With E3 2009 just a scant 17 days away, the hype machine has certainly started to build for quite a few game companies. And Rockstar Games is apparently no exception, teasing its upcoming GTAIV DLC via Twitter of all places.
Stating as vaguely as possible, "Details on 2nd episode of GTAIV downloadable content coming soon," Rockstar has officially started the ball rolling on wild speculation. Though it's possible the company will bust out details on the next expansion to Liberty City pre-E3, we're not betting anyone's baby on it. But then really, who bets a baby? You monster!

Well there is a rumor going around that Rockstar planned to have the DLC based on the two individuals who were with Nico when they were delivering the drugs. So since Lost and the Damned followed Johnny, it would kind of make sense for the next episode to follow the other guy who was there.

No, Luis Fernando Lopez. That the name of the one guy who breaks the on-going deal in the museum.
If I recall correctly, he was also in that one mission where Niko and the McRearys rob a bank. I think it's called "Three Leaf Clover". Also, he was present during the Gay Tony diamond deal.

I bet that they`re going to do something with the abandoned amusement park, bringing it to life. New enemies/gangs might include the killer clowns and the ringmasters. Silly string will be a new weapon and Niko can be outfitted with new accessories such as a clown nose and wig. CLOWNS!

I'm still amazed that they didn't do anything with that amusement park (aside from being home to a pigeon or two.) What a waste of resources.

Yeah. I was thinking either an Orthodox Jew for the main character (because of the whole Impossible Trinity theme, or a teenager who can use all that amusement park stuff. And they seem to put a lot of effort into skateparks and skate companies (Curbcrawler) in LC, that they could definitely add in skateboarding as a feature. Here's hoping anyway.

Who needs a skateboard when you can take a superbike into the halfpipe?

I lost my child in a bet.
My cards were all red! I thought I couldn't lose! But the bastard had two cards that had the same number on them... What are the odds of that?!?

That's exactly what I thought when I read your comment!
(Well, not exactly, it was actually more like, "Great, another wannabe elitist with that ridiculous teenager mentality that hates everything once it hits mainstream acceptance.")

I challenge you to show where I've succumbed to that mentality even once, pete. My profile is open. Go ahead.

When it's first downloaded the game starts you right into the DLC, and after that it starts whatever version you saved in last.

Just occured to me - there's never been a female GTA protagonist. That'd be interesting.
@ Jason Statham (AKA Vegeta) - the third guy in that mission is Playboy X, who I doubt will be playable because [SPOILER ALERT]there's a point in the main story where you have to choose to kill either him or Dwayne and the DLC story can't really depend on a choice the player makes in the main game[END SPOILER]
I'd like to play one of the following:
- Grunt working for Jimmy Pegorino or similar (with mob-wars style gameplay)
- Gerry McCreary (during his [SPOILER] relatively short stretch in prison - imagine all the characters you'd meet inside [END SPOILER])
- Brucie and/or Roman (for teh lulz)

Actually, you're wrong. The 'other guy' is Luis Fernando Lopez, not Playboy X, and is only seen as a bodyguard of Tony Prince. Once in the Impossible Trinity (where Playboy isn't even present), once in Diamonds Are Girl's Best Friend (again, no Playboy) and once in Lost and Damned. He fits the bill perfectly, and his story seldom crosses paths with Niko or Johnny, giving the developers enough free hand for the story.
As for the woman protagonist - sure, it might be interesting, but ... 1) Most of GTA players are male 2) I can't really see a woman beating up tough bikers and stealing trucks. Not being sexist ... just realistic. And I'm not saying it's impossible, it's just ... awkward.

Well this is what happens when your research is a look at a few screenshots.
Since when did the player base being male mean there had to be a male protagonist? Never stopped Lara Croft or Joanna Dark. I know plenty of women who would fuck up a biker if they needed to.

actually, the rumor relates specifically to the "Impossible Trinity" achievement that you get during the museum heist, which involves Nico, Johnny Kelbitz, and Luis Fernando Lopez. so if the rumor is true, Luis would actually be the protagonist of the 2nd DLC pack.

The protaganist HAS to be male. Hookers don't bounce on females, as far as I know.

Why can't R* make some fun DLC, like say a Mod Pack - with the inclusion of a cheat creator ; give the community a bunch of variables and attributes and maybe a few object lists. Then open up to the inclusion of custom skin packs, level creator, objects ect - it would make for a fun game. I would happily pay to be able to access a cheat creator - handgun firing rockets while in matrix HERE I COME.
On a side note : a zombie mod would be fun too - where the mod turns the crowd to zombies except from a few (there is already the character skin!), and they chase you, jump on your car ect - they could even work in a story to it. Say - you go to your phone book and then go to Modes ; it comes up with "Sandbox Mode", "Matrix Mode" (see earlier) and of course "Zombie Mode". Once you activate it, you spawn in some safehouse and have to run the gauntlet from A to B and pick up various characters along the way. It would be sweet.
