That same title *patch and song pack* applies to Rock Band 2.

Besides, I don't WANT World Tour again. Too many problems.

I would rather start over with a different menu system (Theres no good way to sort the WT DLC, the menu is terrible. If they keep pumping out more DLC, it just won't work. Imagine having a 350 song list in Rock Band 1. It would be terrible!)

Also needs a better band interface (They are already on their way. Metallica's interface was MUCH better than WT's, with the Black Fretboard cheat, a star counter, a black ring around the combo box, a comment to show you how well you did on a vocal phrase, and more visible rock meters. Still don't like pooled star power. Mainly because it sucks for the drummer, not for anyone else.)

Finally! I've been writing on message boards for over a year about how cool it would be to allow people to play whatever instrument they want. Even if it is 4 guitars, drums, whatever! No more getting stuck with doing the singing only since so many of my friends don't really like to. This feature is gonna rock!

And I had a feeling GH5 was gonna allow existing WT DLC to work with it. Its exactly the route Rock Band went with their second release.

I for one, am excited about this one.

I only wish they would rate their songs in difficulty like Rock Band, but you can't have it all. lol

Your comment is very "Meh." Wonder why you even bothered to post it, if you don't care like the "Meh." suggests.

I can't think of how many times I've thought how awesome it would be to hook up multiple drum sets at one time. Wait, it is about the same number of times as I thought it would be great if "The Fonz" from happy days would water ski in his leather jacket.

Master Of Puppets would be great song for the full band environment!

Oh wait.... it is. It's in Guitar Hero: Metallica. Well worth the money, despite all of the whiney naysayers that complain about having an extra disc.

Like a party will really be killed if you have to fucking change a disc. Fuck, you know what we used to do at parties before Rock Band and Guitar Hero? We TALKED.

But people's attention span nowadays......

... and I'll buy Guitar Hero World Tour if they will make GH5 import the songs from the original disc... yeah that would be shamelessly copying a feature that RB2 kinda supports, but they could make it better by working out what ever deal is necessary to let it import ALL GH:WT tracks instead of just most of them.

I really like having the large library of songs that RB+RB2+DLC provides. I would be glad to buy more music in the GH series as long as they make it as convenient as possible to use as much of it as possible.

Could you ever imagine a world where RB1/2 + GHWT/GH5 + DLC from both would merge into a mega library of music that would work with either game. Now that would be flat farking amazing if that ever came to pass... (don't worry I'll wake up from my day dreaming in a little while....but I like the color of the sky in this world)

Hmmm.....

Well I don't understand, I stared at my World Tour box for over 25 minutes and I cannot find a "4" "IV" or "four" ANYWHERE.

I take it they are skipping the name 4?

My collected thoughts:

- Any combination of instruments is a pretty cool idea. Still not that extraordinary.
- OF COURSE Acti would have DLC from World Tour transport. They would have gotten an extreme amount of shit if they didn't, seeing as everyone already hates them anyway.
-I'll treat GH5 as if GH3, GH:WT, and all of the other money whoring titles weren't made. I'll give them another chance if they can actually pull off a good game for once.

And everybody, remember: We all thought GH:WT was going to be a worthy RB killer, and it ultimately wasn't to anyone with a sane mind. Don't start claiming this one to be the god of all music games until its release, and that applies to even the RB camp as well.

This might be their biggest break since Guitar Hero: Aerosmith! Only saying that because right now, this doesn't comapre to World Tour or GHIII. Although I'm liking the whole "you and 3 friends can all play the drums" thing (talk about drum solos, drum battles, drum beats, etc), the setlist right now bothers me. Kings of Leon? Punches self in the stomach. Vampire Weekend? Roundhouse kicks self in the face. White Stripes? Cuts himself. Please add more metal than anything! If this doesn't happen, then I have no choice but to stop buying GH products! But thanks for releasing that free metal DLC last week!

It's good to see their product ever so slowly migrating back towards being an acceptable proposition against Rock Band. DLC compatibility is commendable, even though it is expanding at a much slower pace. Guitar Hero could really cut Rock Band off at the knees if it pre-empted their strategy of slowly releasing songs from all the previous Guitar Hero titles on their platform. It'd be much easier with GH's brand recognition to just re-license all of it again and drop it in large chunks of DLC. But by the looks of Smash Hits they've chosen not to do that.

Actually the most innovative things I've heard about the Guitar Hero franchise so far has been the pause cooloff (where it takes you back to the game after leaving the pause menu, but gives you a couple of seconds to re-set your fingers and get ready for the chart to start moving again), and the ability to change difficulty midway through the song. These are both things Harmonix haven't done and will make great additions to the core game.

But yeah, still no sale from me at this point. :P
