The second installment of BioWare's sci-fi action series finally gets more video love today, and this time it's not telling us that the main character is dead. Instead we notice ... well, we'll just let the above video, "Prelude to E3," speak for itself. Just please stop toying with our fragile emotions, already! We'll have hands-on Mass Effect 2 goodness from E3 soon, where we look forward to "killing someone a thousand times."

Gah!! Awesome. I can't wait until my 360 gets back from repair to finish the first.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't finished this game yet. I just figured out what I'm doing this weekend.

I just finished it a couple weeks ago. It bogs down if you're a completionist for sure. I didn't realize how much I wanted 2 until just now...

just from the clip you can see the subtle things they did to improve on the game.

Mr ESC
The first game is anything but bland. I do not play RPG's (except FFVII of course) and I played Mass Effect through twice and I am a completionist. Were talking about 75 hours of gameplay and it was all fun. My only complaint is that the game got pretty easy towards the end because you are so powerful. Will buy the sequel day 1!

I have to play ME 1! Even though it is in my library, some other games still take priority!

Right? The Normandy under attack, it kinda looked like Dead Space with the big whole in the side of it.

didn't they already announce this was going to multiplatform? or was that my wishful thinking?
i played through much of the game at a microscoft playtest event - and enjoyed it a lot. but the damn game froze on me just after i beat the final boss "for the first time" (in the words of the guy running the playtest). and it ended before I could get back there. grrrr.
i have no 360, and no pc (my macs arent new enough to handle boot camp pc games either), so i havent been able to (re)play it.
the sequel looks fantastic tough. here's hoping for a PS3 release!

Can they pull a Sega and release it when they show it off at E3?

Check the loading status stuff before Casey Hudson comes on.
It clearly says "Commander Shepard: MIA" not KIA as before. Normandy status is also listed as unknown.

wasn't 'KIA' followed by a blinking '?' before..?
I'm guessing the shit hits the fan at the start or before ME2 starts..
I'm hoping there's a ME 360 elite like there was for Resi 5.. my seemingly immortal 360 has made odd noises of late (it's not that noisy usually), even froze twice in the last few days whil playing Burnout Paradise..

This is one of the few games I never picked up. I am now waiting for the rumored compilation that includes the DLC but haven't heard about it for a while. Any news?

@hydra - and I've been avoiding that edition for a while now. duh. Thanks for the tip!

Not worth waiting for the compilation. The DLC is pretty effing weak (yet enjoyable) in comparison to the massive ass game that ME already is. Plus, the DLC was only 5 beans when I bought it and I'd imagine you can find a pretty cheap copy of ME somewhere.

Yeah the 2 disc special edition has been out for a couple months. Prior to it being released I had only borrowed and played/finished the game. When the 2 disc edition came out I bought it. It was only 20 bucks new, one hell of a deal for a GREAT game.
