The recent single-player demo for Red Faction: Guerrilla has been downloaded more than a million times already. Still, assuming you're tired of swinging sledgehammers in a vacuum, Volition and THQ will release a multiplayer demo over Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network on May 21.
The demo will highlight the game's "Damage Control" mode, as players work to build and rebuild key structures on a pair of included maps, using an assortment of nine weapons and five backpacks. 15 unlockable experience levels will also be included -- useful with Red Faction: Guerrilla set to ship on June 2 and ostrich hunting season just around the corner.

This is awesome news. I downloaded the single player demo just the other day, and I have had a lot of fun playing it. I was actually surprised at how much fun it was.

I've gotta download this demo. I've forgotten what Red Faction was like. And I'm all about Ostrichsizin' (don't yell at me spellchecker! It's a word!) some fools.

Well to tell you the truth, this is nothing like the old Red Faction games.

Tell that to Arnold Schwarzenegger in Total Recall, I'm sure he'll find that comforting as his eyes pop out of his head.

'Atmosphere' doesn't mean air that is breathable to humans.
The atmosphere on Mars consists of 95% carbon dioxide, 3% nitrogen, 1.6% argon, and contains traces of oxygen and water.

I thought it showed some potential. The chase sequence was cool at first, but frustrating because of how cheap the AI was. It sucked having to start the mission over after dying, and it seemed that an unlimited number of enemy soldiers were spawning (and the ammo capacity is too low to deal with them).
This game would be way more fun if you could just blow everything up with wild abandon, and not have to tiptoe around conserving ammo and health.

I'm pretty sure this is one of two sites on the internet where that post makes complete sense to most visitors.
The other one is totally NSFW.

Can't wait. I preordered the game once I went twelve times through the demo and STILL found new ways to blow stuff up or crush it with the walker. I really don't care much about MP, but if it turns out to be fun, fine by me.
