I love his voice too but I also love the Initial D style drifting airplane near the end of the video.

I guess Takumi has grown up a bit and grown beyond driving cars?

"TAKUMIIIIIII DRIFT THAT PLANE!"

Whatever happened to this rumor? http://xbox.joystiq.com/2008/06/09/rumor-conviction-loses-voice-of-sam-fisher/

Not sure if that's Michael Ironside's voice or not.

Emo or not, I want to play this game. The earlier videos looked awesome in a "screw shadows, I'm just going to knock over every table I run past" kind of way.

While I assume they've changed the game quite a bit since then, I hope it's not back to Splinter Cell save-the-world missions after one mission as a renegade.

Yea I'm hoping to see a lot more "hiding" out in public. Trying to blend in, being inconspicuous while pursuing your objective. They've always pulled off the sneaking around in restricted areas pretty well, but after a while the levels end up feeling kind of empty.

MOTHERFUCKING YEAH!!! Sam is back!!!!!

Seriously though, it fucking took them long enough. The splinter cell series are my favorite franchise. I hope they build on Double Agents multiplayer which in my opinion was the best one of the four.

CT is still the best. And isn't Sam like 80 years old by this point. I love Splinter Cell as much as the next stealth ninja loving enthusiast. Maybe they could do a flash back to the cold war or something...

I think it probably will. Splinter cell has always had the edge in the stealth area of the game. That's just my opinion though.

I love both, but if someone's looking for a more realistic approach I would argue that Splinter Cell has the upper hand.

Of course SC is more realistic, you don't fight mooing geckos and near immortal vampires in SC. Im just arguing MGS is the better stealth experiance.

If by better stealth you mean running around in cardboard boxes and dropping nudie magazine booby traps, then yeah, MGS is better...

I always felt like SC's levels had better flow. They felt like continuous areas whereas MGS levels tend to really feel broken up into stages. I suppose you could chalk it up to differences in regional design theology.

I'm going to have to disagree that MG has better stealth action, stealth camo yes but action no. It's like asking what's better orange soda or root beer. I love both for different reasons. MetalGear= Boss Fights and active camo. SplinterCell= Sneaky secret ninja soldier guy who sneaks around.

I enjoyed MGS1, but it wasn't really stealth, it even calleds it's self 'Tactical Action'

Splinter Cell is Stealth.. hell even in the first game, you could (apparently) complete the game firing 1 bullet if you were good enough..

I don't see how MGS4 isn't as "stealthy" as SC. The game is just so versatile that you can play it without being stealthy if you wish. In certain difficulties, if your even seen its game over, I don't see how it gets more stealthy than that.

Im not hating on SC, Chaos Theory was an awesome game...just nothing compared to MGS.

But whatever, this debate won't end b/c I am a diehard MGS fanboy, and MGS is my absolutle favorite game series of all time, right next to zelda.

Well at the end it talks about the transmission being cut off, so I assume that the other bullet holes will be a continuation of the trailer. I don't understand why you would break apart a trailer though, kind of a lame idea.

Hi,

Just a quick one to Richard:

After playing condemmed 2, or just the demo, one have to ask ? - Why is Emo - Sam in both games, are they twins ?, or just look-a-likes ?

Any conspiracy theories ?

In Double Agent, he has to shoot Lambert, and in Chaos Theory he kills his friend Douglas Shetland. I guess it could be referring to either.

I'm glad you are outraged over the apparent gameplay switch too. How they can go from stealth-action to what appears to be a strategy game in which you "pilot" a man-made satellite is beyond me...

All I know is SC is back in Montreal where it belongs, out of the malevolent talons of Ubisoft Shanghai, and that is all I could possibly ask for. Loved the original gameplay footage, and am eagerly looking forward to finding out whatever it is they took so long to change about it. Hopefully it will be every bit as good as Chaos Theory, and do as much to push the power of the PS360 and stealth gameplay as CT did on the original Xbox.

I also grow tired of emo being used as an insult but that's a different matter.

So....from that video Sam is in Malta....on holiday?!

or.....

1) He's now teaching scuba diving...
2) He's about to go have at the mafia over on Sicily.

I've been to Malta, there's dick all there apart from a lovely place to have a holiday and some amazing dive sites. So I really dunno what they're up to with this one...

Andrew are you hating on Xbox because it's not coming to lovely Playstation? Posts like this annoy me on Joystiq and why I prefer Kotaku over this shit.
