We've already seen a trailer for Harmonix's portable rock star simulator Rock Band Unplugged, but if you want to see gameplay footage of a full playthrough of one of the title's tracks, consider your desire fulfilled. YouTuber Shadowneji02 somehow managed to get his hands on the game, and uploaded his performance of System of a Down's "Chop Suey." We've got said performance posted after the jump -- it might be a tad NSFW, as the player's band is puzzlingly composed of skimpily dressed femme-rockers. Creepy.
The video further enforces the feeling that Harmonix's debut title Frequency should feel very, very flattered by the upcoming PSP Rock Band adaptation. It also makes it that much more difficult for us to wait for this bad boy to hit store shelves June 9.

Makes me want the digital tracks with eight on stacks sooo much more. For some reason this makes me yearn to hear "Autoblaster.....Bumper...Crippler."
It will do, but by christ I want my third entry in that series. It's a Sony exclusive by default, go for it. Make it PSN with new track packs you can buy.

Yeah we need a Frequency/Amplitude sequel! This will have to do for now but I'll surely miss Amplitude's awesome multiplayer...I don't know why they couldn't include something similar in this version of Rock Band.

Well sucks that he downloaded it (I think he did because the game was leaked) but atleast we got to see some gameplay.

Why does it suck that he downloaded it? Does that mean he's not allowed to buy it now?

It means he's PROBABLY not going to buy it now.

I don't necessarily agree that it means he won't be buying it now. I don't know about you, but I do admit to downloading PC games from time to time that either just got leaked or I'm not sure about. If I like the game that I just illegally downloaded, then I typically do go out and buy it. If I hadn't downloaded Demigod, I wouldn't have bought that game.
Maybe it's just me

Looks lame to me. It might be more appealing if you could use your own songs like Phase or Audiosurf.

I know it wouldn't work, but it would still make the game more appealing to me. I couldn't stand playing the same 30 songs over and over. What makes Rock Band fun for me is the guitar controller. For a portable, I would need variety to keep me interested.

Game is way too easy and repeats patterns way too much.

First off, have you PLAYED a musical intrument in your life? Music IS repeated patterns. Very few improv guitarists nowadays and even then it's only during solos.

sheppy, i don't think he's referring to the video. you do know that the game leaked right? i've played it myself when i went over to my hacker friend's house. he's the one that hacked my psp and i feel seriously tempted to download it myself because it was that awesome.

Then he's a theif and should have all opinions hencefoth revoked unless he's willing to pay for the games he plays.

Yeah this is true because people who download never buy anything so their opinion is duummmbbbbbb!

Go absolutism. Whether he's a thief or not, I don't see how this negates his opinion on the subject? Especially since he has evidence/experience to back it up.

Yeah, missed the reply button.
But as to why it negates his opinion is very simple. Ladies and Gentleman, what is the single largest complaint from developers on PSP? Why yes, it's the fact that their sales are unusually low. Now considering this, look into the rampant piracy of the system and holy crap, imagine that. Devs are pissed because their games are being stolen which leads to less support for the platform. Which of course leads the the situation like the past year (notice how, with PSP-3000 being unhackable supposedly, we're seeing a ton of support coming back for the platform?).
So in other words, it's like another very similar analogy. Imagine someone comes into an art gallery and sets a painting on fire. His excuse for damaging the painting? Because it wasn't very good anyway. He saw the painting and now no one else will so who's to say his opinion is rendered invalid by his experience? The people who wanted to see the painting itself. In other words, if you're stealing PSP games, whether it's an early leak or not, you're destroying the platform that's been plagued by people destroying it. Your opinion, as such, is rendered invalid because you are nothing more than a degenerate vandal destroying the platform you are critiquing. Experience with the game firsthand is moot in this instance because he's a parasite, feasting on the flesh of a platform with all sorts of excuses on why he shouldn't have to pay for games.
So fuck'em. His opinion is invalid. Do not encourage the destroyers. Do not acknowledge the destroyers.

Ezio's Review:
it's awesome. that's all you need to know. the interface is almost exactly like rock band 2. the gameplay is fun, if not a tiny bit hard to get used to. the default controls are great, and feel intuitive once you get used to the gameplay, which takes 1-2 songs at most. the tracklist, which you can see for yourself here at joystiq, is pretty rockin' in my opinion. you can unlock all the songs from the very beginning, but doing that disables saving until you quit the game. and... that's it!

How are tremolo picking and drum rolls going to work in this game? There's no way a human can press buttons that quickly.

Cyborgs will try. Humans will play on lower difficulties.
Check out some of the Amplitude/Frequency vids on insane difficulty. You'd be amazed how fast people can press buttons, though the PSP doesn't exactly lend itself well to it I will admit.

Kaemon it is not bad taste because there is no proof it is pirated. I mean yes more then likely it is but you never see him load it to see if it is running on an sd card or a umd and he got it early. Again it is probally pirated as it is easy to do but there is no proof so you can't really fault joystiq

It's not released yet, and reviewers are typically held under non-disclosure agreements that would forbid something like this. So... where else would he get it, exactly?

Yeah, it really really really is waaaaay easier than DJ Max. The US version of DJ Max got totally messed up with the whole "press whatever button" but 1 and 2 didn't allow that and the game actually grades your presses and you don't get what is basically 4 life bars, or instant life regeneration if you finish two bars of a song like you do in RBU. I Gold Star'd nearly every song on my first try. That shouldn't happen.
