For those of you curious whether a game development studio named Team Ninja would continue to create exclusively ninja-based games, you can now rest easy. In a recent interview with Kikizo, Team Ninja's (relatively) new Commander-in-Chief, Yosuke Hayashi, confirmed that Team Ninja would continue to work towards "the future of an outstanding series." Said series being, of course, Monster Rancher. Or, wait, no -- Ninja Gaiden. Yeah, that one.
Hayashi explained the demand for a Ninja Gaiden III had reached a fever pitch, claiming, "what the consumers, the gamers are looking for is going to be the next chapter," and, "that we're in a position of being able to make that call, and to provide pure entertainment that's going to be enjoyed by action gamers and our fans." Hopefully we'll find out more about the series' future when we sit down with Hayashi at E3 in two weeks (and some change).

Itagaki was so obsessed with the hardcore market (and his own image) that he forgot that games are supposed to be fun, they're supposed to want to make you keep playing. I was disgusted with NGII halfway, so I sent it back to Gamefly. The game was also ugly as sin, like a high-res Xbox1 game. I gave NG Sigma a pass because it was a port.
Hopefully the Tecmo will come out with a good NG game.

Actually Sigma ran at 1080P while NG II ran at 585p. There's a pretty good chance that Sigma II will also be 1080P.

@Kdiggy
Actually Sigma wasn't in native 1080p, the developers said in an interview once that they couldn't have 60fps while running in 1080p, it's only upscaled 720p even if the back of the case begs to differ.

I really don't know why I put myself through the torture of NG. I traded that game in a week after I had it. Guess it wasn't meant for me to beat it. I'm a firm believer in "When fun ends, Frustration begins". That's what sums up NG to me.

I'm just glad they fired that douche who was heading up team ninja. Ninja Gaiden is a great franchise, but the games are not really known for there story telling, dialog, and character development. I'm hoping they keep the tight frantic combat which made Ninja Gaiden great in the first place, but the series could be so much more if they worked on flushing out better stories.

Im willing to keep playing NG games but I hope they stop the stupid release this on xbox then redo some stuff and put it on PS3 a year or so later. How about 1 game on both systems at the same time. I have Ninja Gaiden 2 on 360 that has never been put in my 360 cause after reading about Sigma 2 I'll be let down till Sigma 2 is out.
Same thing happened with Black after reading about Sigma I never picked Black up again.
