I'm pretty sure Ragnarok Online is from GRAVITY not XSEED, they are just localizing the DS game.

Loki represennnnt!

RO was never the same after they stopped letting you use Dead Branches in cities. And teleports on players. Who can forget setting up a merchant in town before you went to bed, then waking up dead in Glastheim?

Hmm, Nintendo has a handheld MMO or online RPG... Why can't Sony hop on the bandwagon? And if I'm mistaken, someone please reply to me a Sony online MMO or RPG.

Sorry, I didn't specify... A Sony online MMO/RPG for PSP (that's why I mentioned handheld).

I didn't try Phantasy Star, is it worth it? IGN said it's the suck. (Is it even infrastructure?)

Except for this version of the game isn't massively online. Three other fools are allowed to play with you. Lame.

none of the phantasy star games are mmo style though, they are lobby styled, then you go into levels with friends. same with the ds phantasy star zero. if you really want an mmo, go play on a pc, as this game wont do it for you either.

Ragnarok is by Gravity. Gravity is also responsible for Requiem: Bloody mare.
XSeed most likely is the ones handling the translating and publishing for the US release.

And honestly, I don't see myself playing it. Tried it, its one of the epitome of grinding Asian-MMOs, no quests, just monsters.

Rhamsey, I understand there are no hardcore MMO's on handheld like there is on PC. But, lobby style games are fine too... Especially when they're good. Which brings me to Monster Hunter portable

So like, they didn't port Ragnarok Battle Offline to the DS? Because that would have ruled.

Well, since everyone has google and wikipedia at hand, anyone can be a smartypants and bother other guys who made a -nobody gives a shit- mistake

Anyway, thanks for the info Griffin McElroy

Mario, you say it's a "nobody gives a shit" mistake, but I think the people who put all the effort into creating the game from scratch probably care about getting their credit. And heck, it's important for the consumer. Becoming loyal to a developer for continually putting out games you enjoy is a big part of being a gamer, and if you mix up who is developing what, you can easily end up buying a game that is developed to an entirely different standard.

It has nothing to do with being a smartypants, and everything to do with the writers here holding a level of journalistic integrity befitting their positions.

Oh, you're right, Quick let's search every unintentional mistake made by the journalists here and say that it's an epic fail!!! because, you know, we're perfect

And no, for the companies, the "credit for the effort" doesn't matter, just the money and if the game it's profitable or not

Companies don't give a shit, yes. But customers (that's us reading this blog) really ought to. For example, let's suppose this game turns out to be fantastic! Then next year the new Uwe Boll DS game* is also published by XSEED, and everyone says oh look! It's by the same people who did Ragnarok Online! It must be great! BIG MISTAKE.

* Don't worry, as far as I know there's no such thing...

Good lord, I had no idea we had so many drama queens. ONE article that gets the company wrong isn't going to cause people to fail to read their game box, to miss the opening game credits, and to assume that XSEED is the developer.

Cross-checking who the developer, producer, distributor, localization teams, and programmer's mother are is a new fad in the gaming forum community. I wouldn't take it personally (or whatever it is when you get all defensive about something that has nothing to do with you).

It's a good correction. Leave it a good correction by suggesting it like a normal person, as opposed to a douchebag.
