I would love for them to try a Fallout or Elder Scrolls side project on the wii, just to see how awful it would be compared to the real console versions. You think Dead Rising was bad? Just wait til they try a game as massive as F3 or Oblivion on the Wii.

I look forward to the imminent crushing of nintendo fanboys hopes (as if it hasn't happened enough this gen, but apparnetly they're not getting the message).

First of all, I have no idea what you just wrote. It's a mess, get it fixed and try again.

Second of all, nothing I said is false and I have been proven right constantly this gen. If you want the big games like Dead Rising and Fallout, but you only have a Wii then here's the harsh reality....you made a mistake and bought the wrong console. But the good news is, you can fix this problem. You can go out and buy a much stronger console for cheaper than it cost you to buy your ridiculously weak Wii, then you CAN experience the big games.

The wii is good when it sticks to what it does best, these niche casual titles. Everytime they try to make games like on ps3/360 it always ends horribly. Always.

I understand the desperate wii owners won't agree with me, but what they do have to understand is that I have been right every time when it comes to predicting how these "ports" (that's what they basically are when they try to make 360/ps3 games) will be like.

But please, don't let me rain on your parade. Just get all filled up on hope so when it comes out and it's like Dead Rising for Wii I can watch the constant backlash happen all over again. It's much more entertaining for me that way (and here I was trying to do you guys a favor by bringing you back to reality).

Well, honestly tmac, the only truth that you share is that Dead Rising was a bad port, other than that, you as entertaining to see as a bad soap opera: its entertainingly bad and overly mediocre with a tint of melodrama.

While he may be a little trolly at times, Tmac's totally right on this one. Unless they stylize the graphics and do something that works right for the Wii, a game like Oblivion or Fallout 3 would be a complete train wreck on Wii. The system can not create the kind of immersive environments that make Fallout what it is - it just doesn't have the horsepower to do it.

When you stand on top of a cliff and see a radio tower that is literally in-game miles away and you can actually GO to that tower and explore it... well that is what makes the experience of Fallout 3 the best. It's that realistic, immersive exploration.

When that tower pops out of nowhere with bad textures because the Wii isn't capable of the draw distance? Not so good. And then the ugly low-texture rad scorpion comes up and the Meh-train starts chugging down the tracks.

He might troll, but he's not always wrong.

Wow Jerk Face, tell us something we dont know. holy shit.

When are people like you and tmac gonna realize that Wii owners uinderstand that, they just dont give a shit.

tmacksaldfhj&*$#@FJ: "the wii sucks so bad at its graphical power."

wii owner: "hmm, yeah you're right its not that great, but that doesnt bother me"

tmackljjildfJ*#RY#(EFH: "you guys are so wrong, look how bad the wiis graphics look."

wii owner: "yeah ummm, didnt we just talk about this. I though I said..."

tmacdsnfkalsdfh$%%$#: "hey guys, I just found out something. You're all wong about the wii. You actually dont like cause its doesnt look as good as the PS3/360."

wii owner: "WTF, how many times with this guy?"

Dead Rising was clearly a port without effort, given that the game has been outperformed before (and outperformed by the same damn company), its fairly obvious

If Bethesda puts any effort into the project (might be asking a bit much of 'em), it'll be fine.

@tmac

Try to understand--there's a difference between what a console can do and what a developer can do. Citing Dead Rising is an example of the latter.

If the Xbox handled Morrowwind, then so can the Wii. That's a fact of specs. Many Wii owners understand this, which is why they have a low tolerance for your posts and for developers who don't take advantage of these specs. Perception, not the specs, is the reason for all of the shovelware. Bethesda is a savvy enough company to figure this out.

vs.

I'm not saying the first link is ugly, or that graphics are everything. But if you're going to say lazy developers can just make Oblivion on Wii; you're wrong. Morrowind probably have run on a PS2.

I'm not sure whom you're arguing with, but I don't think anyone disagrees. The Bethesda focus was on "big," whatever that means--big IP (Elder Scrolls, Fallout), big world, deep gameplay. There's no reason the Wii can't handle any of those meanings. Arguing that the Wii can't handle Oblivion is a) stating the obvious and b) arguing something no one has asserted.

Seeing a destination from a mountain is cool, yes. Maybe the Wii can't support that kind of vista, but it certainly can offer the same functionality, which is a wide-open, travel-anywhere game. The latter is far, far more important and lasting than a momentary sight.

An immersive environment is not dependent on HD graphics. See any Ultima game.

Folks are letting a game or two define what a certain genre or experience has to be like. I'm thankful y'all are not game developers.

I'm going to have to disagree Tmac. I think this is the perfect style of game to have on Wii. Since the Wii FPS controls are spot-on, a first-person adventure would be perfect, especially with the Wii Motion+. After watching the trailer for Red Steel 2, well, imagine transfering that gameplay into a Oblivion style game, even with cel-shaded graphics if you must. Epic Win!

When the Wii was announced back in '06, the first thing a thought of was a Bethesda/Elder Scrolls-style Harry Potter game, with the Wii remote as the wand, and a microphone peripheral to speak the spells.

Unlikely though...

Coming from the same studio that said the Wii is a toy that does not concern them?

In that same interview that he called the Wii a toy, he referred to the PS3 and 360 as "evil killfests." :)

I wouldn't be surprised if they developed something like The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard for the Wii--not a casual game but not necessarily a sandbox RPG either. It's also its own setting. And sword fighting--one of the bad parts of Redguard was its controls, which the Wii could improve.

A Redguard-type of game with more exploration might disappoint some, but really, it could be a fun game.

It's a new Elder Scrolls, I'm calling it right now. Anyways with MotionPlus coming out the sword fighting would be totally awesome. Hopefully they can pull it off better than some of those other games out there.

Interesting as Fallout would be on Wii, you know they're not going to port Fallout 3, and they're nowhere near a Fallout 4, so any Fallout they release on Wii would be a spinoff, which suggests it would be rather small, or only half-done. So, I'm hoping it's NOT Fallout. New IP might be wishful thinking, but that's what I'm hoping for.

I think Bethesda is looking how awesome Ubisoft's Red Steel 2 will be using motion plus, and now they try to create a game with the same mechanics and gorgeous graphics near the Fallout 3 quality.

This new Fallout game will be even better than Fallout 3 for ps3/xbox360...
