Capcom confirms Tatsunoko vs. Capcom localization

That totally convincing-looking Nintendo Power scan did not lie! Capcom just admitted, via its Twitter account, that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is, in fact, being localized for a North American release. The terse (it is Twitter, after all) announcement: "cat is officially out of the bag on Capcom Mystery Game #1," followed by a link to the scan. The announcement was also made on the Capcom Unity blog.

That means there's one more "Mystery Game" left in Capcom's E3 lineup. Honestly, it could just be a second demo station for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and we would be perfectly happy. Maybe we shouldn't admit that.

Awesome, I was actually going to get a Japanese Wii just for this game, now I won't have to. Picking Karas a soon as possible.

you know, as someone who ACTUALLY imported the game and played it a whole damn lot, I can tell ya that while it is a fun game, it just doesn't hold a candle to Street Fighter 4.

cmon guys, like i said, its a COMPLIMENT to SF4...

I think this game looks amazing, but I'll be damned if I know who any of the "T" guys in the "TvC" are!

With the exception of that giant robot, most of them seem like "superhero in white jumpsuit with helmet"

That said, fighting Ryu and Alex against White Jumpsuit Guy and VIEWTIFUL JOE in amazingly rendered detail is awesome!!!

Out of everything from Tatsunoko's side... I'm betting that the two Gatchaman characters will be the best known here.

Surely you've seen one of its various dubs/redubs: Battle of the Planets, G-Force, or Eagle Riders?

I saw it as a kid with the name G-force, also I sort of knew Casshern, or I remember watching it for some reason.

But yeah, probably the only that people will recognize here is the Gatchaman series

I intrested to know how they got the rights tape sorted out. Did they buy out all the rights from the American holders so they can have em in one place again?

Is it wrong of me that I'm mostly interested in this because of Yatterman?

Of course, I'd be a bit more interested if it had Tekkaman Blade as well as Spaceknight Tekkaman, and if they had someone more interesting than Batsu representing Rival Schools.

Oh yeah the next game in sequence should be:

"Super Sentai Vs. Capcom"

There would be a way easier time marketing it over in the West too. (You know, Power Rangers and all)

That would be hilarious.

Unfortunately, it would also be completely unrealistic for a US release. Us (rare) PR fans are very unhappy to inform you that Disney pretty much hates the franchise it bought from Haim Saban and has been steadily trying to get the show canceled for the past five years or so. It seems like they will finally pull it off at the end of this year's season. So I doubt they'll front for a video game, even if it will make them some extra cash, and especially since their last PR game, Super Legends, didn't do that well in sales.

The only thing that I can think to ask Capcom for now is if they can bring the Mega Man Legends games to the US Playstation Store. I never had an opportunity to play them.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Then maybe if they sell well enough we can finally get a 3rd one.

Yep, Yami is the final boss.

Ha, I just watched a video of it on Youtube, and even though Yami wasn't exactly one of my favorite parts of Okami they did a good job of bringing it into TvC. If the English version of the game gets new characters though, I'd love to see Ammy or Waka or even Isuun playable; seems really weird to me that of everything they could have brought in from Okami they chose Yami.

I'll finally be able to understand what the characters are saying AND read the menu's! The import version was great so I'm buying this, again, on release day.

I like the VS series, but this one was pretty gimp. 3 attack buttons + 1 partner button is pretty lame.
