A woman steps from an impossibly high ledge, bullets fly in every direction, a face is pushed, and somewhere in there, things go "totally extreme" and the guitar solo kicks off. The (totally CG at this point) graphics and world give off an almost Cowboy Bebop-esque/future film-noir vibe that we could see ourselves digging. Oh, but the trailer's music? It's awful. It was actually better in the Japanese trailer. You've been warned!

Bah, the more 'realistic' they try to make the people the worse it gets. It was particularly bad in Infinite Undiscovery and it's not getting any better here. The DS just keeps looking better as an RPG platform because tiny cartoony blob looks better than generic angsty asian prettyboy.

What? That music's not bad at all (for a video game).

I may be alone here...but I'm really put off by the obnoxious electric guitar Japanese developers insist on having with their soundtracks.
Perhaps it's because I'm all "obnoxious electric guitar'ed out" after growing up in the 80's and early 90's. I'm over it. At this point, I just feel like it ruins an otherwise respectable piece of music, and makes it sound juvenile and cheesy.
Example: Why in god's name would they decide to ruin a moving orchestral piece like "One Winged Angel" in Advent Children with an out of place whiny electric guitar??
Then again...that's just me.

Guitars have, and will always have, a well-deserved home in video games.
Go listen to NES Contra and tell me they're not trying their hardest to emulate guitars with those lo-fi blips.

THE OVERUSED VIDEOGAME INDUSTRY WORD OF THE DAY IS, "GENERIC!"! *CLAPS HANDS* *CHEERS*
Everything is generic nowadays. Videogames, music, movies, books, tv shows, all forms of entertainment media. It's very hard to come up with something really original. Well, idk, maybe you should try an make an rpg? Let's see what you got. I bet it would come out looking generic too.

I'm clapping for your comments in a generally generic manner.

All this talk of generic things is new and exciting. What I was saying was that the hoodie jacket combo is bland and not very visually striking, much like me no english gilmore"s mum. SQUASH THAT BEEF!

Clearly no one here shops at Aldi's. The generic version of any product is usually 1/2 the quality but also only 1/5 the cost of the name brand. That sounds like a winning equation to me.
Now if only this game could come in a generic black and white package that says only the word "GAME" on it.

Well I liked it... admittedly I watched it with out sound, but I'm digging the bullets, RPG, anime vibe. Huge fan of Cowboy Bebop also btw.

All of the dramatic gun pointing and lifting of people by their necks gave me deja vu of RE5.

Do not diss the music man. I hope this is not going to fail because the only thing I find good is the song. A girl jumping off a building is not something I find: "This is COOL/GREAT/EXCELLENT. I'm definitely going to get this game." I hope their gun gameplay is good. (RE sucked cause you have to stop and shoot. Make it like uncharted 2 if possible)

The trailer is awesome!
And for once I agree with a Joystiq writer. The music in the Japanese version is AMAZING.
I need to find that song somehow. Looking forward to this game. Tri-Ace will deliver another stellar product I'm sure.
