This Wednesday: Blazing Birds and Gel: Set & Match [update]
This week on Xbox Live Arcade we get two new games, Blazing Birds and Gel: Set & Match. The latter is the latest game from NinjaBee Gastronaut Studios. It's a puzzle game that (shockingly) requires players to destroy colorful blocks. After a quick search around the internets -- Blazing Birds doesn't have an Xbox.com page just yet -- it appears that the former is a game in which robots play badminton, an idea which is about on par with grandmas playing electric guitars. Could be awesome, could be awful. We'll just have to wait and see.
Both games will run 800 ($10). Major Nelson now says Blazing Birds will clock in at 400
($5) with Gel: Set & Match priced at 800
($10).
Update: Gel: Set & Match was developed by Gastronaut Studios, not NinjaBee. Pricing changed.

Where is my Magic: The Gathering!
The achievements are up but I have heard no news on this games release whatsoever.

Hopefully it's up soon since it looks to be done

I have dusted off my Dreamcast yesterday and I'm wondering where MvC lingers.
But back on topic:
Easily saved money. I'll check the demos, but after the last couple weeks (go, Space Invaders!!!) it's nice to have some "must-not-buys".

Blazing Birds is the winner of 2007's Dream-Build-Play contest using XNA

"The latter is the latest game from NinjaBee."
ahem, NinjaBee? While they are good developers, I believe you are mistaken:
Gastronaut Studios, responsible for Small Arms, is making Gel: Set & Match.
Not sure about Blazing Birds, but I'll definitely be checking out Gel this week...

You're absolutely right. Two of my favorite XBLA devs... Not sure how I mixed them up. Corrected.

Heck if I knew :) But thanks, that gives things kind of a timeframe and I know how long I can practice my MvC skills :)

I think Major Nelson just tweeted that Blazing birds will be 400 , not 800 points

If Gel Set Match is as much like Fuzzie Fever (their xbox live arcade game on the big black/green xbox), they have themselves a purchase.

Do they release new XBLA games for purchase on Amazon? How long does it usually take for them to be on the site?
