Gorgeous Mirror's Edge inspired photo set leaps into view
Savage Land Pictures have revealed a gorgeous photo set inspired by the 2008 Electronic Arts action title, Mirror's Edge. The shoot, which Savage Land Pictures notes took months to plan, includes sixteen images of a model dressed as Faith traversing rooftops and interacting with armor-clad enemies. The set isn't completely realistic however, as "Faith" is shown holding a pistol and the image doesn't completely break... like the game did when she picked up a weapon. Just kidding, kinda.

Some of those are really impressive. Especially "On the Edge" because it's so reminiscent of the game.
Einhanderkiller @ May 19th 2009 2:13AM
The lighting in some of those shots were more overdone than Mirror's Edge's.
sonicspike41 @ May 19th 2009 2:20AM
"The Army of One" looks rather amazing.
Also, this looks like it'd make for a good movie.
Doombot (zuburi) @ May 19th 2009 3:06AM
Stop right there.
sonicspike41 @ May 19th 2009 3:09AM
I had to force myself to leave out "Though sadly I know they'll fuck it up by focusing on action more than the running/exploration parts."
One can dream though...

Is tonight cosplay night or something?
Roto13 @ May 19th 2009 2:39AM
Too bad so few of them look like anything is actually happening. :P
CH3BURASHKA @ May 19th 2009 2:52AM
Anything with Mirror's Edge is awesome. Cross your fingers for ME2!
Michelobius @ May 19th 2009 3:54AM
Why do I need to cross my fingers for Mass Effect 2? It's already happening.
Just kidding. But there are too many games with similar abbreviations.

@Michelobius
I too eagerly await the sequel to the underground classic, Mario Endoscopy. Wait, what?
Ryoga Vee @ May 19th 2009 3:38AM
Sadly, I'm not impressed.
Charlie_Six @ May 19th 2009 3:53AM
I saw these photos a couple weeks ago, and while I thought some of them were cool, I didn't know how anyone could say "this took months to plan" with a straight face. I'd be surprised if it took more than 20 hours of actual planning.
Ryoga Vee @ May 19th 2009 7:17AM
If that... I've been doing parkour for about 3 years now running with SFPK and most of the bay area, We don't plan shoots, we just do it. This could have been a really amazing shoot, but sadly those photos are lacking on many levels. If you want to shoot parkour, don't hire a model to be an athlete.
Gehodra @ May 19th 2009 4:48PM
@Ryoga
They weren't shooting parkour. They weren't even trying to shoot parkour.

I like what they did, but I'm suck a lame sneaker dork I just can't stand looking at those wack shoes they found 'after months looking' online. No. The shoes in the game are based on Nike AirRifts. There are red ones out there.
But enough sneaker snobbery... Good job people.
Jon2309 @ May 19th 2009 9:04AM
Actually, all the way through the slideshow, I was thinking the same thing, that the shoes were wrong. Doesn't help when the EA logo at the start of the game shows a close up of the damn things either.
Stranger @ May 19th 2009 4:42AM
It took months to plan a glorified cos-play photo shoot that you photoshopped the crap out of? Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of all that planning if you're going to give your imagery it's look with post effects?
Premature ejaculation man @ May 19th 2009 5:54AM
Now that I've had a long time to play all the games from Christmas time, should I buy Mirror's edge now? As in, did you guys like it?
(Thought this would be as close to relevant as I could get)
MystileArmor @ May 19th 2009 9:46AM
If you can pick it up for something like 20/30 bucks, I'd say go for it. It gave me enough out of it when I first got it.
Time trials are alot of fun, and the single player campaign is pretty cool. It's a good game, but it could've been alot better. The lack of a true multiplayer component is what holds the replay value back a bit.
j.howlett @ May 19th 2009 6:33AM
looks like she'll barely make that jump, if at all.
Ryoga Vee @ May 19th 2009 7:19AM
I would have made it.

She has some good height...so I think she'd make it with no problems.

@Ryoga
Why would you show a picture of a guy committing suicide?
JoeTheBlow @ May 19th 2009 7:31AM
Funny, i was playing this last night, and got to a bit where i had no choice at all but to pick up a gun and shoot 3 SWAT guys.
Spent 20 minutes shouting at the screen and wishing pain upon the designers.
Evan @ May 19th 2009 8:23AM
These photos are cheesy, but they would be much cheesier if Faith was a stereotypical triple-D heroin! (See
http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/26/mirrors-edge-dev-bummed-over-curvier-faith/ )
I think the devs definitely made the right choice on Faith's physique.

Could we please just leave the poor woman's tits alone?
Brian @ May 19th 2009 8:55AM
@hunter2223: of course not, this is the internet afterall ;)

Looking back in 2008, Mirror's Edge was one of my more memorable games, and one of my favorites despite it's flaws. I loved it and I can't wait for a sequel, hoping the core game becomes a little more fun. That engine is just so good.
Avada Kadavra 9 @ May 19th 2009 2:27PM
Shes hot, little. . . flat, but still hot!
