Attention Dragon Ball fans, we have some news that will probably make all kinds of sense to you. Daizex.com noticed reports of new games set in the Dragon Ball universe for the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3. First up, French site Wiiz.fr has magazine scans showing off a new Wii game based on the original Dragon Ball series, apparently entitled Dragon Ball World: Big Adventure, a 2D/3D affair in which Son Goku (who?) faces the Red Ribbon Army (whatever that is).
Meanwhile, Xbox Evolved reports that a new Dragon Ball Z game is on the way for Xbox 360 and PS3 entitled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast. Daizex.com suspects that the game is more closely related to something called Sparking! than Burst Limit. Sparking!, evidently, is the Japanese name for the Budokai Tenkaichi series. Or something.
We don't really understand anything else, but we're sure it's all very exciting.

Either report news properly, or don't report at all. I think it's fair to say Joystiq needs a minimum quality consistency among its contributors' posts. Including some humor is fine and we all love it, but this one just makes people think the whole thing is a displeasing chore.
Why bother posting, then?

I agree. Maybe it's just the hypersensitive hardcore Dragon Ball fan in me, but damn this post pissed me off.
The picture was funny, no doubt about that. But how can you get the main characters name wrong? Just do a little research, Joystiq. Jesus.
The whole post was like this:
"I don't care about this at all, but you might. Have fun, I'll be back at 6 to pick you up."

For the record, I used to be a huge DBZ fan. Bought the old VHS tapes obsessively and I even have an imported Japanese copy of one of the Sega Saturn fighting games (which was pretty decent for its time).
The post was meant as a joke. Relax.

This blogpost is so condescending to Dragonball Z fans, it disgusts me.

I'd agree with one of the above commenters--when are we going to see a non-fighting DBZ game?
I remember on an emulator I found a Dragon Ball Z RPG game. It was like a card battle combat system, but it worked nicely, and had RPG elements to it.
I really enjoyed it, and would love to see more non-fighting DBZ games. The fighting games are appropriate for the series, but come on, how many more do we need??? There's already a FLOOD of them in the market--let's try something new please!

There is a new RPG Dragon Ball Z in Japan, and it's getting a US localization, just like Dragon Ball: Origins.
The bame is Dragon Ball Z: Story Saiyan...

I was online as it was leaked. I totally flipped, I've been hoping and praying for another Sparking game for well over a year now. I joined forums, wrote up my own ideas for it, discussed the possibilities. The fact it's on the 360 and PS3 is really exciting, I can't wait to see what they come up with. Spike make the best Dragonball games.

A mild correction: It's Son Goku.

Oh, Namco Bandai America, I'd rather prefer you push your parent company's flagships (Summon Night, Super Robot Wars and Tales), instead of milking this halfway-to-forty-year-old anime franchise.
Even Toriyama estuvo hasta la madre with milking the Dragon Ball name.

I still think Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm has been the best anime/manga video game to date based on fighting mechanics and its visuals.
I stopped playing any of the DB(Z) fighting games when they began to be the same game over and over again.

In my opinion, Burst Limit s*c*ed.
But if this game is a sequel to Dragon Ball Sparking Meteor,
I can really look forward to it. Because Sparking Meteor is the best Dragon Ball game I have every played !!
So I'm really looking forward to this game, and definitely going to buy it !
I really have been waiting for this since I didn't like Burst Limit. :)

Just give the controls of Budokai 2/3!
As soon as I started to play the Burst Limit demo, I was immediately aware that the game would suck. The controls were absolutely horrible.

Raging Blast...Evolution...SPARKLING...
You know, the franchise is called Dragonball and all it's subtitles from a time on seem to be attempting to out-ridiculize that.
I mean seriously, Raging Blast?
Still, I might rent.

I'm into DBZ, so I'm definitely going to check it out the new game. I recently bought Tenkaichi 3, and it's pretty sweet.
