Aliens Vs Predator details and teaser trailer unleashed
As promised, Sega has revealed a couple more Aliens Vs Predator screenshots, as well as the first details of the game and a teaser trailer, which you can view above. The three screenies that our gallery now consists of show off what appear to be some impressive volumetric lighting effects from the perspective of an alien, a predator and a marine.
Each of the playable species has its own "distinct story-driven single-player campaign mode that interweaves with the campaigns of the other two species." In addition, the game will feature three-way online multiplayer, though the maximum number of online players is unspecified. Check out the Sega UK blog post for more details on the story and be sure to cast your eyes over the very brief teaser trailer above.

Shagittarius @ May 20th 2009 4:53PM
"Goddamn it, you're seventeen, stop being a fucking alien and get a job!"
Access Granted @ May 20th 2009 6:45PM
Sorry to burst your bubble Shagittarius but I am 18 and have a job lol.
If your reply was supposed to be funny in some sort of way then it really wasn't that tasteful.
Shagittarius @ May 20th 2009 11:15PM
It was every bit as tasteful as the movie 'Step Brothers' where I quoted it from.
If you had seen the movie you would have known I was actually encouraging you.

Ah I see lol... sorry for sounding like a prick I don't see comedy movies all that often haha...
Neuromancer @ May 20th 2009 11:24AM
Looks awesome, I missed out on the first AVP which I heard was great. Can't wait for this one.
Fernando Rocker @ May 20th 2009 11:25AM
To be honest, I didn't like the Alien vs Predators at all... the plot was very bad.
I'm a big fan of the Alien films... In fact, I remember that one time I bought the VHS (don't remember of it was for Alien or Aliens) instead of a NES game... I really enjoyed the movies when I was a kid, and I just watched the movies again recently and they are still very good. The setting is awesome, and the sense of isolation is great. It kinda reminds to Metroid.
I always wanted to play a good Aliens game, and I hope this one delivers...
Neuromancer @ May 20th 2009 11:39AM
You know AVP was a comic and a game before it was ever a movie, right?
Ihavepants @ May 20th 2009 11:57AM
Are you saying you didn't like the movies or the first two FPS AVP games? Because I don't think anyone liked the movies.
Lunastra78 (PSN: lunastra78) @ May 20th 2009 11:57AM
There are several different AvsP comics i believe. On that i read i b/w long ago was quite alright. They should have used that as a script to the movies as whoever wrote the actual movie script deserve to be punched in the face with a brass knuckle and set on fire.
XLM @ May 20th 2009 11:58AM
You know Fernando is talking about the original Alien series, which was a movie and a game before there was an AVP comic, right?
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 20th 2009 11:59AM
Comics = Good.
Movies based on that comic = BAD
Okay AvsD2 was less shitty than the first but it was technically a zombie movie
XLM @ May 20th 2009 12:00PM
crap, I just noticed the first line of Fern's post.
/ignore
Fernando Rocker @ May 20th 2009 12:06PM
Well... In my first line I wastalking about the AvP movies... I really didn't like the movies at all.
I know that there are some AvP PC games that aparently are very good (way before the films), but I didn't know about the comics.
I need to check them out, because to be honest, the whole Aliens and Predator unverses are really good.
xGeneral DEATHx @ May 20th 2009 1:30PM
Indeed Fernando, the PC FPS games are quite good, and the movies for AvP were quite shitty.
For the fastest/smoothest action that ol' school PC's could muster, nothing beat the first AvP game...especially when playing as the Alien race...the wall/ceiling walking transitioned so effortlessly that at first it would disorient, but after you got acclimated to the controls you really felt like a bad-ass Alien warrior-drone.
Storm Eagle @ May 20th 2009 11:26AM
As long as I can play as the Predator and freely camouflage myself while shooting enemies with my tri-laser sight shoulder cannon, I'm sold. Also, I needed to be able to activate my self destruct sequence while laughing methodically in Arnold Schwarzenegger's face.
Muffin Lad @ May 20th 2009 11:31AM
Words can not express how much I hate teaser trailers
'Can i have some moar please sir?'
Shagittarius @ May 20th 2009 11:30AM
Looks fantastic, please tell me we get a PC version.
Danthok @ May 20th 2009 1:32PM
This game is made for PC, it will be announced.
In original AvP I always got frustrated as the alien, the stealth missions were hard.
Thanatos @ May 20th 2009 1:36PM
Im waiting for the announcement of it being on PC as well. If i isnt coming out for PC heads are going to roll at Rebellion and Sega.
WINterfang @ May 20th 2009 6:03PM
I know the game will be on Xbox 360 since it was feature on the Xbox Magazine.
MrSpaceCowboy @ May 20th 2009 11:34AM
"They mostly come at night. Mostly"
Captain Planet @ May 20th 2009 11:35AM
Oh please don't make this game suck Jesus.
Antagonist @ May 20th 2009 12:22PM
Hehe...you said "suck Jesus."
tenor77 @ May 20th 2009 1:00PM
Jesus gave Captain Planet crabs
Immaculate contraction
DangerMouse @ May 20th 2009 11:38AM
I figure the alien vs predator stuff is just a name to cash in on. But I'd like to see a predator game similar to first movie. Given the advancements in large outdoor areas and realisitic looking environments, i think something great could be accomplished from it.
The Dark Wayne @ May 20th 2009 11:39AM
holy crap those are some of the best graphics ive ever seen
Dan @ May 20th 2009 11:42AM
Tasty.
I hope they nail the MP. Last time I played avp2 I'm pretty sure I was still on 56k. Never got in to it as you can imagine.
Copland @ May 20th 2009 11:49AM
I'm drooling already :D-
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 20th 2009 12:00PM
Do want.
Garvey @ May 20th 2009 12:01PM
Interesting indeed. This comes out of left field, but wasn't there a AvP game on the Jaguar back in the day?
Captain Planet @ May 20th 2009 12:15PM
Yes and it was AWESOME.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vhKLD_Z-zg
Danthok @ May 20th 2009 1:35PM
Are you admitting you owned a Jaguar?
jax sedrin @ May 20th 2009 5:56PM
I'll admit that I owned a Jaguar and that I played AvP and that it was AWESOME.
I won't admit to owning any other games, though.
PS3Lee @ May 21st 2009 5:54AM
I don't think anyone would mind admitting to owning a Atari Jaguar if it was just to play AvP, that game was excellent.
It was every other game on that system that was rubbish.
capt_carl @ May 20th 2009 12:08PM
:O
Bad memories from AvP2 are slowly resurfacing, lol.
BG aka Slap @ May 20th 2009 1:07PM
If you haven't played AvP2 then you missed out on a great game. As long as sega can capture the pure joy of decapitating a marine while dropping down from the ceiling as an alien, then this game will be epic.
Enduros @ May 20th 2009 12:53PM
I'm really REALLY excited about this game. I never played the other AVP games but I've heard they were excellent. Sounds like something I can get into. FPS are my bread and butter but I'm getting kinda bored with them. This game looks to be fun because I can tear things limb from limb!!
Now THATS entertainment!!!!
And will I be able to lay eggs in people's stomachs? =P
Danthok @ May 20th 2009 1:38PM
In the games you missed, as the alien you start as a face hugger on a stealth mission to find a sleeping victim. The you burst out of their chest POV and have to run around avoiding getting stepped on and shot at. Awesome concept and I hope they stay with it. If I remember right it was incredibly hard.
Enduros @ May 20th 2009 1:42PM
@Danthok
That sounds awesome!! Oh man, the more I hear about this game the more I want to play it. The multiplayer is going to be epic!! I am so excited for this game. I really hope it lives up to the potental. I am definatly going to buy this!!
MuToiD_MaN @ May 20th 2009 1:45PM
I hope they include the replay value of AVP1. Hello, ragdoll pig sticker mode!
Didn't the hard difficulty have limited manual saves per level? That was .... evil ....
Sal Moriarty @ May 20th 2009 1:49PM
Who do I have to bribe to get the old school arcade version ported to either XBLA, PSN or both? For those not in the know, that was best AvP game ever made.
WiNG [XBL&Steam: WiNGSPANTT] from lifeinagame.com @ May 20th 2009 1:54PM
If this game doesn't have a level where:
1. You, as a facehugger, implant a human with an Alien embryo
2. Then, in the next level, control your violent, bloody escape from that person's chest
...massive fail.
(This was in Alien vs Predator 2 (PC) and it was amazing)
Metro Mapper @ May 20th 2009 2:02PM
Definitely either pre-redered graphics, or concept graphics, not in-game.
AoF-Squall @ May 20th 2009 2:15PM
The AvP2 campaigns are still some of the most brilliant, terrifying singleplayer experiences in FPS. Not to mention the multiplayer was fun as hell.
This game's got a lot to live up to, that's for sure.
WINterfang @ May 21st 2009 12:34AM
Screw The Conduit, this is really SEGA's real attempt at a high caliber First Person Shooter, don't screw it SEGA ;).
