Moptimus Slime (PhilosoRaptor is the new Keyboard Cat) @ May 20th 2009 8:06PM
I read the first part of the title and thought this was about Guilty Gear.
Now, I realize the horrible reality of being wrong
-Vexx- @ May 20th 2009 8:29PM
You to?
I thought it was GG as well.
Kenny Powers Fastball (PSN johnnynumber5) @ May 20th 2009 8:36PM
It's funny you two said that because I had it confused with Darkstalkers. I was expecting a new HD version with a titulating spread of everyones favorite vampire savior Morrigan.
-Vexx- @ May 20th 2009 11:11PM
I wish Capcom would make a new Darkstalkers game.
Mu93n @ May 20th 2009 8:12PM
wow that looks amazing. totally want
Ghen @ May 21st 2009 7:25AM
Seriously. This is the perfect premise for a game, and the art style looks pretty cool.
Towers @ May 20th 2009 8:18PM
So he's like, the Devil of War? lol
It looked pretty decent.
Gervin @ May 21st 2009 3:45PM
Read up on your Dogma. WAR is one of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. Technically he's an angel. But in original Judeo/Christian dogma, Angels weren't all sweet and pretty with halos and harps. There were many types of angels, and alot were created and used to do God's dirtywork. (Angels of wrath, indignation, petulance, revenge, etc....).
cuteSAVAGE @ May 20th 2009 8:18PM
I finally let my Play subscription run out last year (For every good thing they do, they sully it up with incessant fanboy bs and raving/whining "omg, I can/can't play as a hot chick in this game!"
My last issue was their Darksiders cover though, and the interview completely sold me on the game. Zelda + Metroid + Open World + Devil May Cry = Instant buy for me.
Couldn't find the article online, unfortunately...
Zoot Suit Jedi @ May 20th 2009 8:28PM
Zelda + Metroid + Open World + Devil May Cry you say? Well, when they add some Mario Kart component then they have themselves a sale.
emirabal @ May 20th 2009 8:50PM
I first saw this in play also and immediately was sold on it. The artwork that they had looked utterly amazing and i was extremely impressed with it all. I see the trailer and i a even more impressed, i did not see any talking going on so i still question that. I would hope they have some dialogue.
The whole heaven hell thing did make me think of guilty gear also.
I am a little disapointed at the few comments on this but i also know that play is not a fanboy magazine so it doesnt get the same burn as OXM or GAME INFORMER which has a bigger base. But this video does not show or describe the article that play had.
Oh and this is as a must buy for me.
dgknight500 @ May 21st 2009 3:05AM
same here... I can't wait for this game! It's the closest my poor PS3 will ever come to playing Zelda
tenor77 @ May 21st 2009 10:45AM
Yeah in regards to the artwork, one of the leads used to draw for a little comic called the X-Men.
Totally badass
ryan @ May 20th 2009 8:32PM
Like God of War meets World of Warcraft. Awesome!
Cutty @ May 21st 2009 5:53PM
I too saw God of war in this, which is a great thing...
Since I won't be getting to play God of War III, my only regret of not haveing a PS3, this game seems like a pretty good alternative.
Good story, appears to have good gameplay, and graphichs are decent....
Good enough for me.
And they have like a 10 min. vid up on IGN of gameplay.
ChuckBartowski @ May 20th 2009 8:33PM
wow, more guys with big swords. Cloud and sephiroth were enough jeese....
Dioxinis @ May 20th 2009 8:38PM
but what you fail to relies is moar bigger is moar betterer
but anyway this game looks awesome i'll see how it flays out but i think i have another game to add to my list.
Geist @ May 20th 2009 9:28PM
Usually, I don't like the cliche, but when we're talking about War itself, a Horseman of the Apocalype, I think an exception can be made.
Stix Remix @ May 21st 2009 1:08PM
At least it's a big/buff guy with a big sword, instead of a thin person with a huge sword.
Kenny Powers Fastball (PSN johnnynumber5) @ May 20th 2009 8:33PM
I'm sure the this is going to go over well with religious advocacy groups.
ChuckBartowski @ May 20th 2009 8:35PM
XD, but all in all, it looks like a good game, but somewhat..... idk,,,,,,,, familiar. Not like ive seen it before, but it has many elements from other games.
twh @ May 21st 2009 2:50AM
If one allowed a video game, of all things, to question their faith, then maybe one has more problems than they're willing to admit.
lawlersauce @ May 21st 2009 1:26PM
Hey Socrates
rockatansky89 @ May 20th 2009 8:37PM
i read about this maybe a year ago in GI. It sounded cool in concept but i'm still not to sure about it.
chowley @ May 20th 2009 8:39PM
Oooh Orgasm.
The preview on IGN is very interesting, bodes well, im looking forward to this
bluesky_v2.01 @ May 20th 2009 8:42PM
That looked surprisingly well. The only thing that would make it better is two separate campaigns and an ability to choose between Heaven and Hell.
emirabal @ May 20th 2009 8:50PM
I did not even think about that, i like your style bro.
Veras Gunn @ May 20th 2009 8:53PM
Wow, I can't say I was too excited about this game, but god damn that was an impressive trailer. Brilliantly stylized character designs, and over the top action. Devil may what? Who of war?
KiraXD @ May 21st 2009 2:32AM
of course ...we FINALLY get a true Joe Madureira game... love him so much and have been waiting for all his failed projects... when i heard about this one... i got extremely hopeful.
OTAM @ May 20th 2009 8:57PM
By the title I thought it was about Black Sabbath w/ Dio fighting for Earth.
Would be a lot cooler if it was.
Zoot Suit Jedi @ May 20th 2009 9:36PM
And so the plot ideas for Brutal Legend 2 begin to emerge.
Arekusu @ May 21st 2009 11:32AM
LOL, I thought the same thing
TheLionOfAzzalle @ May 20th 2009 9:27PM
Looks absolutely beautiful. Cool concept too regarding Heaven and Hell.
lawlersauce @ May 21st 2009 1:29PM
The "concept" is actually the book of Revelations
Geist @ May 20th 2009 9:29PM
I like the concept, I like the look, let's see if the battle system is as fun as the trailer.
fred @ May 20th 2009 9:31PM
Legend of God May Cry 40k
fred @ May 20th 2009 9:32PM
also, I'm buying 12.
Darlaten @ May 20th 2009 9:33PM
Ok - this is going on my "to buy" list. Hopefully, a demo get's released on either the PS3 or Xbox360 to truly try out the game play. In any event, August 29th, 2009, is the release date given in GameInformer. Hope they are correct. Sweet.
Odog4ever @ May 21st 2009 12:30AM
I remember playing a demo level for this at PAX '08. Thought it had a lot of potential and now it looks bad ass. So I'm guessing they will drop a proper demo around PAX 09' time unless the release date gets pushed (Hoping they stick to Aug. 29th also)
KM @ May 20th 2009 11:05PM
They say that life's a carousel
Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
Its heaven and hell, oh well!
C lab Cpn @ May 20th 2009 9:38PM
Wow, amazing art direction they got going there.
j.howlett @ May 20th 2009 9:40PM
i remember reading about this game. i like what i see so far, this goes ahead of dante's inferno for me.
DiGiTAL SiN254 @ May 20th 2009 9:56PM
The angels in this game remind me of Tyrael from Diablo.
looks pretty enticing to say the least.
Makiyura @ May 20th 2009 10:02PM
I too have the issue of play magazine with this as the cover story, very cool how they approach this game! I'm really looking forward to this game!
Hell-Reaver @ May 20th 2009 10:52PM
Wow, after that trailer i'm sold. That looks like god of war on sterioids. The sword he's got could do some mean damage. This is know on my to be watched list, and the to buy list.
Drizzt519 @ May 21st 2009 4:21AM
he could house a small family in that thing...
Chums @ May 21st 2009 12:24AM
been waiting for this game for a while now, good to see some media released about it
In A World (XBL) @ May 21st 2009 12:23AM
This is the game that Too Human SHOULD have been. Looking forward to it!
Danthok @ May 21st 2009 9:30AM
Man Too Human was horrible. I couldn't even finish the demo, now that is sad.
Amanda Cameron @ May 21st 2009 10:42AM
Is it just me or does War look like Arthas from Warcraft 3? In fact...the visual style reminds me of Warcraft 3 a lot...not that that's bad, I like that game but I couldn't help noticing the similarities.
