Honestly, ever since they started using Intel chipsets, I doubt there's anybody there who doesn't use a dual-boot for Windows.

I had Vista on my MacBook Pro (free copy from university) and I kept it for a year before I realized I wanted the 30 GB much more than the 3 times I actually started Windows.

This is someone who has never owned a Mac before the computer in question. (I still have Windows on my desktop computer).

I don't because I don't like Microsoft's operating system and have not purchased it in a long time.

Do you buy and maintain both Microsoft's and Apple's operating systems? If so neat, but don't presume everyone is just like you.

Miss Mary? Why she is all dressed in black with silver buttons all down her back. She is great. This one time she asked her mother for 50 cents to see the elephants jump over the fence. They jumped so high that they reached the sky and never came back until it was the 4th of July. Miss Mary Mac, such a nice lady. You should try and get in touch with her.

not everyone has upgraded to an intel mac. my g5 is still doing fine for my photo-management/editing needs.

that said, i've given up on mac gaming and do it all on my ps3. how about some ps3 love from braid? i never played it because i don't have a 360.

that's too bad. this is a great game. old school side scrolling platformers with new ideas FTW. I hope you get to play it on your console/computer of choice soon.

FNG - yeah i love everything i've heard about it. i may just go ahead and get it for the mac. i did make an exception for penny arcade adventures as well, so...
but i think i would enjoy playing it on my ps3 more (controller ftw).

cyro- its less of a money issue, and more of a limited time (i have a 10 month old). the hardware issues are also an issue, plus the fact that i hate microscoft. =P

As someone who has a 1 year old intel powered macbook pro, what is my best bet for putting windows on it in order to play PC games (IE: The new Total War)

It has a 2.4GHz processor, intel Core 2 Duo, and a GeForce 8600M GT graphics card.

I know this is a bit off topic, but I figured the loyal Joystiq readers could help me out.

You can run Vista or XP. If you're not worried about support, you can usually pick up an OEM disc from a mom 'n' pop PC store for under $100. Either version of Windows will work. Vista better support, but XP might run a bit faster.

Boot Camp, which is included with your mac (I have the next model up, the 2.5), is the best way to game. Fusion/Parallels/etc. don't handle 3D acceleration too well.

You know, PC users didn't get Braid until April... a little over a month ago.

Not that I'm arguing for Macs being a gaming destination, just that this port isn't quite as delayed as your flame-bait article.

Even though I beat this game on the 360 some time ago, I'm buying it just to support the effort. The game looks beautiful on my MacBook Pro.

Or, you know, not. 'Cause not everyone seems to have been as infatuated with Braid as the world may believe.

Braid is beautiful on Mac but is the control scheme complete?

To be blunt, then: What button pauses time? (shift allows you to rewind or fast forward).

All previous discussion of puzzle difficulty being related to dirty tricks more than elegant design is sadly correct. The game is amazing but quite quite frustrating.
