Sega reveals first Aliens Vs Predator screenshot

The image above is the first screenshot of Aliens Vs Predator, as developed by Rebellion. This image is just a tease of what's to come, as more screens, details and a video will be unveiled later today. In the meantime, click through for the high-res version of what, to us, appeared to be a piece of concept art from the game. We're as intrigued as you are to see the game in motion. It's possible this game could make up for the long wait for Aliens: Colonial Marines ... if it ever arrives.

I'm even willing to forgive the utterly HORRIBLE "!%¤%"# VS movies after i seen this. Looking forward to playing this multiplayer and hope they include a co-op survival mode.

i heard colonial marines had been axed, hope not but could be true, this should make up 4 it cause avp2 was good shooter and i hope this will have a simular '3 storyline arcs' thing with alien story pred story and food story(marines)

Monolith developed AVP2. While Rebellion did make the original AVP, that was a decade ago. Since then their most recent game was Shellshock 2: Blood Trails, a shooter so forgettable and mediocre that it's suprising anybody remembered to put it on their wikipedia list of developed games.

in the OXM article about the new AVP, the guy from Rebellion basically copped to that. He said that there were a lot of ideas that got thrown in and the publisher needed a game and it was basically a clusterfuck

I wonder why publishers haven't noticed that rushing out crappy games only works when they're tied to movies?

I remember playing the atari jaguar version of alien vs predator and have yet to play an alien/predator game that matched that one. That said this looks like it could win hands down if done right with authentic sounds and story background.
Looking forward to seeing some gameplay footage.

This is what every sing Aliens or Predator fan wanted in a movie as every "Aliens vs. Predator" story that wasn't a movie thought of this as Aliens vs. Predators.

For the life of me I can't understand why Aliens Vs Predator wasn't Alien 5 and Predator 3 at the same time.

That isn't the first screenshot, the Official Xbox Magazine in the UK has a whole feature on AvP and there are shots that are far more exciting than that in there...! :D

They already have a video about the game up on Xbox Live which shows screens and gameplay if I'm not mistaken.

Hmmmm me thinks that the MP for this game COULD be rather interesting with innovative new ideas IF they have the right people working on it....

Well it has the original developers at least. Although I think I preferred the second game and that was made by Monolith (F.E.A.R. and Condemned guys).

Dude, you came to an article about a game you have no interest in, because it's in a genre you have no interest in, and felt the need to post your utterly unnecessary negativity in the comments for no reason other than to let all of the people excited about this game know that you are not one of them. You've made an assumption. I, in fact, am a huge Alien franchise fan. The ONLY thing I don't like about this game is that it is a shooter. If it would have been an RPG, or even an adventure game like Uncharted, I would have been excited about this. You must be one of those idiots that can't stand someone not liking something that you do. Grow up and get over it. The comments section is for voicing ALL opinions, not just rainbow colored fanboy "ZOMG I love this" posts. Negative comments are just as neccessary as the positive ones.

Yeah an Aliens adventure game would be so rad! You could collect ancient alien skulls called Trophies as the predator. As the marines you could collect alien technology and sell it back to your home base to upgrade your alien-slaying level 10 rifle! And the alien adventure mode would allow you to nurture an alien baby to maturity and watch him leave the nest, and would have a hunger meter and more!

Yeah that makes total sense, an FPS game of the Alien/Predator franchise is unfathomable.

That was some fine misleading there, titling it a screenshot and then immediately saying that you think it is concept art. Seriously why not next time say it went Gold but mean that its actually just in pre-dev.

They said "appeared to be concept art" they didn't say it "was" concept art.

All I care about is if it can be better than AvP2. That game to this day scares the living SHIT out of me.

Looks nice, let's hope it doesn't play like Turok or something...

The screenshot looks sexy.

I'm thinking that is a target render... No way they get that quality on release. I will say tho that it looks great! :)
