Terminator: Salvation for PC recalled from front lines
If you were one of those folks that rushed out and scooped up Terminator: Salvation for PC this week, you've probably been disappointed with the game -- mostly because you haven't been able to play it. There was a replication issue when manufacturing the PC version of the game, which doesn't allow users to install the game at all, Evolved Games notes on the official forums.
Right now, Evolved Games is currently recalling all copies of the game in North America, with the plan being that each copy will be replaced "in a few days." Could this actually be some plot by Skynet to keep humans from playing a game that trains us to kill robots? We doubt it, but it's fun to imagine, which is all you can really do at this point ...

Better waiting a few days than a few years for a game that never came. *Cough* Duke Nukem *Cough*
Neuromancer @ May 20th 2009 5:02PM
A few years? That would put us playing DNF back in 2000.
Wes @ May 20th 2009 7:34PM
A 'few' by definition is 3-5 so no, I don't think 2009 minus 3 to 5 yeras is 2000.
You fail at English, Math or Both. Epicly.

@Wes
Actually, what he said was waiting a few years, which would mean since the last game was made. Considering Duke 3D was made in 1996, then 2000 makes perfect sense for neuromancer's correction. A for effort, but try to pay attention more in class.

This quote is why Terminator > Terminator 2 by about a million.

ColorblindMonk @ May 20th 2009 4:53PM
It's about time. That or Sonic the Hedgehog needs an intervention.
Cj @ May 20th 2009 4:53PM
Dude. Play Oblivion for a bit. Then you will know. Those NPCs are fucking alive. They think for themselves!
Ivan @ May 20th 2009 4:55PM
Based on the reviews, this is probably a good thing.
Phillip @ May 20th 2009 4:56PM
Should've used Steam. :)
SidearmS @ May 20th 2009 5:13PM
You're right - the pirates did, and their copies play just fine :-)
GFWL - Sorry to be stating fact, but you do not hear the pirates crying about this issue.
Foetoid @ May 20th 2009 5:59PM
Cause they didn't pay for it?
Mark C @ May 20th 2009 7:58PM
The pirates used Steam, huh? That's a new one.
BlaqueBeird @ May 20th 2009 8:03PM
It always gets me why someone who buys a game and posts the torrent is called a pirate. I agree that it's wrong, but we need a better name to satisfy the nitpickers out there.
Michael Amory @ May 20th 2009 4:57PM
How the hell could this have gotten beyond testing? Once they started pumping out copies nobody thought they should pop in a disc or two to make sure it works?
Neuromancer @ May 20th 2009 5:03PM
Maybe someone was trying to save a lot of people from playing a bad game.
bamb0o-stick @ May 20th 2009 5:06PM
With those 4 hours of the game time you saved you could rewatch the first two movies over again.
DangerMouse @ May 20th 2009 6:26PM
And with the $60, you could buy about 10% of all the re-releases of T2 from over the years.
Kenny Powers Fastball (PSN johnnynumber5) @ May 20th 2009 5:05PM
I haven't seen a launch this bad since The Nasa Challenger in '86.
I'll be here all week folks ... Try the Salsbury Steak

meist3r @ May 20th 2009 5:07PM
LoL, you can finish that game in a good 4 hour session ... probably took most people longer to complain about it not running than they'll ever play. What a pathetic joke ... surely Skynet won't be programmed by Evolved Games.
The Dark Wayne @ May 20th 2009 5:54PM
maybe it would be good if it was
Rafael @ May 20th 2009 5:29PM
this game is already a big crap , and they do that ?
they really dont want to sell .
what a failure.
Solodin @ May 20th 2009 6:22PM
How exactly does a problem like this make it out to the public? Once the game leaves the studio the only thing that happens to it is duplicating the discs and packaging correct?
Did they honestly not attempt to install one of the final copies of the game on any computer and just hope for the best?
LaughingTarget @ May 20th 2009 7:15PM
Here's a tip. The first disk off the line? Drop it in your PC and see if it installs.
