Yes, just like every other major sport.
And before you say golf isn't a major sport, check those TV ratings for Hockey and Basketball. lol ;)

I still think Hot Shots Golf is better than Tiger Woods, and always will be. It's just much more fun.

I really like the additions they made last year but this year the only thing they really changed is the putting and they made it worse.

last one i had was 2007, hopefuuly enoughs changed now to make it worth a look. all @sports games come out every year comment, thats kinda true in that all EA sports games comes out every year and idiots keep buying them so i find it hard to be too mad at them for milking the cash cow

so i played the hell out of TW 09 on ps3 and i thought it was kinda good... it wasnt the "best golf game of all-time". I'm looking forward to 2010 though. i just hope they give us the option to skip the computer opponents shot. it was hell waiting for those guys. lol. doesn't look like it from the demo though. also the turny challenge was kinda cool. looks like a nice alternative to the boring tiger challenges. as for the people who ask... "why do they have to turn one out every year." IMHO... cause the people that LIKE to play these games can only get 100% completion so many times before it feels really repetitive. as for the update to the "broadcast style" presentation. i could live with out it. i do love me some golf and i guess i'm going to have to give another EA 59.99.

edit: after playing the demo again... it looks like you can skip tigers turn in turny challenge. hope that will apply to computer opponents turn in the rest of the game.

Well, putting is definitely different, I'm not impressed with it. Also, there seems to be a trail on the ball on every shot which makes it look not as realistic as some of the previous versions. I'm not giving up quite yet though, I'll try to like the new features i suppose.

Hopefully they don't shit the bed with multiplayer this time. '09 is friggen crippled when you play online with friends vs taking turns on the same console. And there's no reason for it to be crippled because the modes are already in the game. Typical EA syndrome. Get the parts right, but then fuck up the package.

The ball trails can be turned off in the full game if you don't like them. They're handy for when you're attempting to see exactly how your shot went though.
And more was added than just new putting, the entirely new online tournaments where you can play daily, weekly or even against the pro's during a real world tournament. You see the scores on the leaderboard and if someone does a good shot in the real world you'll get notified of their shot while playing. It makes for some damned interesting games while you try to get anywhere close to their scores.
Putting is different, and I hated it at first as well, but the more you play it the more you get used to it and now I never use anything BUT precision putting.
