GEON devs return to XBLA with Space Ark

Strawdog Studios, the developer behind GEON: Emotions, has revealed its next XBLA project, Space Ark. Billed as a tribute to the colorful arcade games of the '80s -- Strawdog notes Arkanoid and Rainbow Islands as examples -- the game tasks players with healing dead planets by, get this, bouncing animals into the air to collect DNA. Oh, the animals are also astronauts Arkonauts and they have a spaceship called, unsurprisingly, the Space Ark.

Looking at the first screens of the game, we're definitely sensing an Arkanoid / Breakout vibe. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is anybody's guess. According to TeamXbox, the game releases later this year, so we should find out soon enough.
