Jack Black pumped for 'that Brutal Legend movie'
Yes. Thankfully confirmed by a calm and collected Tim Schafer halfway through the video, the game's "almost done" and ready for the stage this fall. Maybe Schafer could've told Jack before he took all those steroids? Meh, we'll consider it payback for School of Rock. We kid! We kid!

"In anticipation of his upcoming movie game, Brütal Legend, Jack Black is getting nutshit!"
There, I fixed it for you guys.
Neuromancer @ May 21st 2009 1:09PM
Haha that's awesome. I like the other guy:
"Oh yeah, feel that! Feel that ever so good, Jake!"
Looking forward to #2.

Hmm. Coulda done without the vomiting. But I'm so ready for this game. Also, I like School of Rock. Just wanted to throw that in there.
Deck @ May 21st 2009 1:23PM
I agree with everything you just said there! Though the vomiting may of been a bit too much for me there, the game is going to be great!!
MaliceMajorE15 @ May 21st 2009 2:05PM
i thought the general consensus was that everybody loved school of rock and it was a massive hit. i didnt actually know that it was the much maligned school of rock
MaxShrek @ May 21st 2009 3:26PM
Yeah, vomit. Not good. Blech.

Next generation consoles? Aw, man. I wanted to play it this generation...
Staccat0 @ May 21st 2009 1:40PM
Yeah, I hate that saying. It always sounds like they are either:
A) Trying to sound impressive
B) Trying to dig the Wii
I know that in reality its neither, but it grabs my eye and bugs me more and more as the current consoles start to get long in the tooth.
Atr-Slzr-Ctr @ May 21st 2009 1:52PM
Dont worry, its COMINS THIS ROCKTOBER
TO NEXT SENERATION SAME CONSOLES!
dantebk @ May 21st 2009 1:26PM
School of Rock is a really great movie, and one of Jack Black's best.
Better choices for your joke:
* King Kong
* Nacho Libre
* The Holiday
* Shark Tale
* Envy
Jason Statham (Aka Vegeta) @ May 21st 2009 1:38PM
Woah woah. I thought Nacho Libre was pretty hilarious. The other movies I agree with.
Petebot330 @ May 21st 2009 1:39PM
Fine choices, all!
joeybeast @ May 21st 2009 1:39PM
Nacho Libre is good.
Discotheque @ May 21st 2009 2:00PM
King Konng???? It could have done without the extra hour, but otherwise it was a good movie.
I say Nacho Libre. The worst movie I've ever sat through (and I recently watched Terminator Salvation and Wolverine so I've survived some shit).
Josh @ May 21st 2009 2:09PM
King Kong was actually pretty good, if an hour too long. And the best part is that Jack Black stole the show from one of the better actors of this generation - Adrian Brody.
Michelobius @ May 21st 2009 2:23PM
King Kong was terrible precisely because it was an hour too long. It was paced terribly, there were too many drawn out scenes that made no sense (Kong ice-skating?), and there really wasn't anything good about it to make up for how incredibly bored I was after watching the first 45 minutes of it.
Dirty @ May 21st 2009 4:00PM

I never expected Schafer to sound like that.

Those guys were the only thing funny about that entire program.

Metal Gear!? @ May 21st 2009 2:39PM
Am I the only one that is tired of Jack Black. I just think he has gone to far with his "act". I absolutely could not stand him when he hosted the videogame awards on Spike. I thought that he would be horrible as a serious actor, but I was surprised by King Kong and would much prefer that he do serious work.
Turd Ferguson @ May 21st 2009 3:48PM
Yes.
RonaldoMoon @ May 21st 2009 2:50PM
Joystiq forgets that the majority of Americans (the majority of their readers) have atrocious movie tastes. Why do you think all of these horrible movies keep getting made in the first place? I mean, come on..."Baby Mama" is still in Netflix's most popular "new releases".
Jason Statham (Aka Vegeta) @ May 21st 2009 4:49PM
Yes because I'm so certain that the rest of the world enjoy only art films and smart british comedies.
Please the rest of the world have their share idiots who enjoy crap like Big Mamma and whatever the Jonas Brothers are in.
derdaim @ May 21st 2009 3:15PM
This will gonna be TEH BEST GAME IN THE WORLD (or at least a tribute)
Ben Gilbert @ May 21st 2009 3:34PM
I was *mostly* kidding. I did like School of Rock more or less but it was definitely one of his cheezier acts. Anyway, the game looks really great and this is hilarious.
Dirty @ May 21st 2009 4:42PM
Way to save face.
Stridery @ May 21st 2009 3:40PM
School of Rock rocks. I just got the sudden urge to pop the dvd in. Woo!
Darlaten @ May 21st 2009 3:53PM
Ugg - another Jack Black Crap Attack. Maybe because I actually passed the fifth grade, I despise Jack Black. His performance, or lack thereof, in the Spike video game awards was obnoxious, irritating, and revolting. Thank God I PVR'd it - the fast forward button came in handy skipping over his nauseating self-deluded attempts at humor.
Why the American and Canadian public is so fascinated with this guy his beyond me. Then again, I guess I shouldn't be too suprised; afterall, if television is any indication as to the intelligence of North Americans, it can't be that high. Besides, why air an intelligent show when we can air reality shows of people setting their ba**s on fire.
No wonder Sideshow Bob wanted to destroy television. ;)
I feel asleep @ May 21st 2009 5:14PM
I remember when I was young and smug and thought I was so much smarter than everyone else. Christ am I glad I'm past that stage! If I ever went back in a time machine and saw myself I'd punch the younger more annoying me in the face about three hundred times. At least.
Anyway, comedy snobbery is just silly. If you can't laugh at both Johnny Knoxville and Woody Allen then I feel sorry for you.
Young_Nastyman @ May 21st 2009 5:19PM
Your 4th most wanted PS1 game for the PS store is Final Fantasy VIII and you put it right next to VII so your opinion is invalid
cafecito @ May 21st 2009 6:25PM
Well, that's definetely Jack Black. His trademark humor is all over that promo. Thing is, even if most people don't take seriously his participation, I really think he's gonna make a great job as the lead character. And since Schafer is writing, we can expect pretty insane and 100% sure funny stuff.
What worries me is the gameplay...
Teabag @ May 22nd 2009 5:51AM
The ending killed the funnies for me. Could have gone out with a better punch.
guzza42 @ May 24th 2009 8:53PM
Tim Schafer sounds remarkably like Quentin Tarantino.
