Buckingham Palace will be getting a special delivery today as THQ plans to deliver a golden Wii earmarked for the Queen.
The pack will also include a copy of the newly released BIG Family Games, as Philip, Charles and the rest of the royal gang compete for the living room crown. The publisher hopes the PR stunt will amuse Queen Elizabeth, though we hope the 83-year old monarch doesn't throw her arm out swinging the console's presumably heavier gold-plated remote.

What a waste. The royal family are such a burden on the British people. Down with monarchs!

The Queen won't play BIG Family Games. Nintendogs, maybe, but not this.

Great to know THQ can afford to give the Queen a free Gold-plated Wii and a free game, because God knows the Queen sure can't afford to buy one herself (if she actually wanted one).
This is the equivalent of any game company giving "celebs" free stuff, and for what? Publicity? Hell, it doesn't make me want to buy their games more, if anything, it makes me resent the game company more for throwing away money and then turning around and charging us paying gamers $50+.

I can understand how they think that people will buy a game if a celebrity uses it.
Example: David Beckham on the Sharpie pens advert. WTF? Those two things have nothing to do with each other apart from autographs.

But the Queen isn't exactly the coolest of cats, is she?

What a weird combination. A luxurious gold-played Wii and a turd in a white DVD case. That's some mixed messages right there.

At least it wasn't a gold-plated turd in a white DVD case.

Maybe inside, it's a bomb. That would be really cool if THQ killed the Queen and the others. All "Royalty" must die
