While I own all 3 games, I think I might still purchase this just for the enhanced controls and to show my appreciation for this amazing franchise. I really hope that sales of this title will encourage Nintendo to release a 4th first person Metroid game in the next year or so (or at least announce that they're working on one!).

And $50 is a pretty sweet price, considering that Nintendo could have released Prime 1 and 2 with Wii controls for $30 each... in this case, it's almost like buying Prime 3 and getting Prime 1 and 2 for free :)

On a side note, I remember suggesting in various forums that Nintendo re-release Prime 1 and 2 before or during the release of Prime 3 to spur Prime 3 sales. I figured people who "skipped" the Gamecube might be less inclined to buy Prime 3 without playing the first 2... so, it's good to see Nintendo doing this now (not saying that it's because they've read my suggestion before, more of a "good things think alike" scenario).

Thanks Nintendo. It's not like I payed $50 for Metroid Prime 3 alone. I may have to trade in my 3 metroid games for this. I wanted 1 and 2 with 3's controls, but seeing as how they will probably release it only as the trilogy I don't thing I have much choice.

Again, the Trilogy is cheaper than what Metroid Prime 1 and 2 NPC would have cost separately. Even if you have zero interest in Metroid Prime 3, this is a good deal. Especially since you can just sell your original copy.

I don't think thats true, you can buy Metroid Prime 1 for 5 bucks at gamespot, or at least you could have a while ago, I don't know about now.

Hope, this comes to Europe. The should add some of the 2D games like Zero Mission and Fusion to the disc as unlockable extra content. Though I don't think, Retro owns the rights to those.
Anyway, whenever I get the chance on a PAL version of this, I'll definately pick it up.

So... Does this basically confirm that there won't be a Metroid Prime 4?

Here's some questions (apologies if it's been asked before, didn't feel like wading through all the comments):
How will Prime 2's multiplayer factor in on all this?
Will it still be there?
Will Retro enhance it at all to enable on online multiplayer experience while at the same time adding enviroments, characters and weapons from all 3 Prime games?

Here's hoping E3 Nintendo press con drops a bit of an added "bombshell" with this title!

I think it does the opposite. I think this will gauge the interest in Metroid and see if there is an audience for a 4th installment.

Let's face it, a lot of people might not have played Prime 3 if they didn't own a Gamecube (and missed out on Prime 1 and 2). With this release, it should get those fence sitters into the series.

I don't see why everyone is complaining, they have made compilations for the longest time. Doesn't anyone remember the amazing Super Mario All Stars? I owned every single game on the all stars cartridge but still bought it because I like the updated games and everything is in one place, i don't have to keep switching cartridges. I will probably buy this one too, even though I own Metroid Prime, and have played the third one (though I never finished either one). So with these updated versions, I get 3 great games, 2 of which having better graphics and new features, I don't see how that is a bad deal. It's not like the new play control things, which I think are stupid, because I can just play the gamecube games,
