Possible double post.

I think an image of the Assassin hiding in a wheel barrel of money would have done this post more justice.

The last game had a ton of potential, but the repetitive missions killed it for me (and a lot of people). The 1st game got way over hyped in the reviews also. I think if they add more mission variety it could be a great game, but I'll bet allot of people will be more skeptical this time around even if it does review well. So, I'm betting that the sales will not be as impressive as the first one.

I agree. AC1 was easily my most anticipated game of last year. It was alot of fun just exploring the open world and avoiding and then running from the guards. But having to pick some guys pockets every five seconds and beat someone up in a dark alley every other mission got old REAL quick. The whole VR thing confused me as well. I understand the plot of the story, it just felt really unnecessary.

They said they learned from their mistakes before and there will be a lot of variety in this one. Look at the gameinformer article on this.

I must be easily entertained, because I enjoyed every minute of the first game. I didn't go after the flags, but I did complete every mission (and I'm pretty sure unlocked all the non-flag cheevorinos)

Then again, I'm not the type that sits and plays a game from start to finish in a week. I pecked away at AC for about two months or so. It also didn't hurt that Mario Galaxy and Mass Effect were released the same week to break things up.

I still enjoyed the game alot overall. But those design decisions hurt the first game. I did read that they werent going to let repetitiveness bog the sequel down, so for that I am grateful.

I also purchased Mass Effect and Mario Galaxy that week. Galaxy got pushed to the side and I jumped back and forth between ME and AC eventually beating AC first. I still haven't picked Galaxy back up since the third week after it came out.

Over all I enjoyed it. I though they could have handled the missions better, is all. I have read the GameInformer article, so it sounds like the sequel is on the right track.

So this is going to be 2007 all over again huh? Assassin's Creed, Modern Warfare and more all in one month? Thank god Mass Effect 2 isn't coming in November as well, I can't afford another 3 months like 2007.

Really! This just in, us gamers would like new games in the months other than those leading up to the holiday season. I'm so sick of the feast and famine gaming release schedules these ass hats keep following. if your game is good, it will sell even more copies in June than it will in November when EVERY other game comes out.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but there have been lots of good games that came out this year beyond the holiday season.

Gamestop sure waffles a lot for having no finger in development whatsoever.

When they have 3 blades in Assassin's Creed 3, will he be Wolverine, or have a SECRET wang blade? Maybe... he already has it....

Heh. I couldn't see the "Game" in his right hand at first, and I was wondering if Altair was about to go into hammer time or to collaborate and listen.

So a big game is coming out alongside a bunch of other big games in the time of year when big games come out?

I guess this is the start of another year of the game companies shoving everything in the last two months of the year.

Top Cat expects another game that is more concerned with "open-ended" mechanics than coherent story-telling.

Top Cat also expects to be rightly lambasted for talking about themself in the third person while mimicking the post title.

I feel sorry for anyone releasing a game in November with Modern Warfare 2 coming out.

Here's how this works. The game will be released in November with a bunch of bugs, and March is when they'll get the patches out to fix everything. The developers say March because that's how long it'll take to get everything sorted out, but the publisher wants that Q4 money.

I assume one of the "mystery" titles will be a Rayman Rabbids game... the franchise seems to be getting the "once a year" treatment.

Then again, maybe it's Red Steel 2. While it's "been announced", I don't think the release date has. Though, I really haven't been following any Red Steel 2 announcements too closely, because despite how "good" it might be, I will not be purchasing it. The first game was just too terrible to justify buying any sequel, regardless of how much more work has gone into this new title. I felt so ripped off coming home with my brand new Wii (day one, pre-ordered) to play this highly regarded and hyped title (Red Steel) only to find that Ubi Soft and Nintendo were hyping shit.

If Ubisoft had any regard for gamers, they'd offer a "trade-in" for that crap title - say for $20 off Red Steel 2 or they'd fix some of the key issues with Red Steel 1 and offer it free (as a bonus of sorts) with Red Steel 2 purchases. Honestly the only thing that really needed fixing was the controls, because I could see past all the presentation and graphics issues. The sword movements worked seemingly randomly and the shooting/pointer aspects were hindered by a "jumping" reticle that would not stay still long enough to score an accurate shot (and no, it wasn't me, because I haven't played a Wii game with shooter aspects with that issue since).

... Ha ha, look at me ramble on about this... you can tell I'm still a tad bitter about it :)
