Lara's Underworld adventure goes budget in the UK
According to Tomb Raider Chronicles, Eidos has announced that Tomb Raider Underworld has become part of the Xbox 360 Classics range as well as PS3 Platinum Hits in the UK. The upshot here is that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions should now be available for a mere £19.99. We've contacted Eidos to see if the new price applies to all PAL regions and if North America will see any budget love.
Considering Eidos was disappointed in the game's sales in North America and the game enjoyed relative success in the UK, we're not holding our breath.

I thought it was a decent game.

I was really disappointed with TRU. I bought it on ps3 and went back for a refund the next day. If Eidos want people to keep playing TR then they oughta make sure the game is actually playable! I only played the 1st chapter, but already there were glitches and horrible framerate issues. Not what people expect from a "flagship IP". TR Legend was choppy as hell i discovered after replaying it in HD (i originally played it in SD and it ran fine). As for Drakes Fortune- i thought better, but the structure of the game got predictable real fast, and the combat became a bit choresome rather than exciting for me.

When it comes to these types of games I would much rather pick up Uncharted.

Sure no budget love in the US but right now is on sale for 46.99 at Amazon, no doubt that in time it'll drop lower

This article forgot to mention that the PS3 trophy patch is finally coming next week.
Side note: I would totally do her.
Andrew Yoon @ May 22nd 2009 4:48PM
The trophies are already available in our trophy portal.
Kdiggy @ May 22nd 2009 5:26PM
It sure is. Great to see. Thanks!

is this game any good im so in love with incharted i dont now about this game

Uncharted has better shotting mechanics by a far. If you have played & liked any of the other Tomb Raider games, you'll like Underworld. It's a pretty solid entry to the series.
If you haven't played Tomb Raider before, it's pretty heavy on traversal platforming & puzzles. The shooting is done with lock on, and isn't really that great. The story and characters are not as good as Uncharted also.
All in all I'd say Uncharted > Tomb Raider, but Tomb Raider isn't bad.

thanks for the info i never played any tomb raider games before so i will leave that game and wait for uncharted 2
Drunk Ste @ May 22nd 2009 5:06PM

jdkay20 @ May 22nd 2009 8:25PM
i've been waiting for a good deal on this game since the release. I hope the states gets a price cut too.
DBuck_Eye @ May 22nd 2009 8:38PM
Isn't 20 pounds still like 50 US dollars?
dave @ May 23rd 2009 7:03AM
It's about $32.
Jesus (PSN: Luttdawg) @ May 22nd 2009 8:46PM
Lara had her day but Drake arrived, bent her over and domianted her so hard she isn't relevant anymore. After playing the pure bliss that is Uncharted you really just couldn't go back to Tomb Raider unless you were a die hard fan.

Pretty meaningless price cut - one of the UK's leading high street music/film/game retailers went out of business a few weeks ago, and they've been discounting everything to get rid of stock. Underworld has been selling for 14 pounds (20 bucks-ish) nationwide for a while.
Maybe it finally started selling a lot of copies and the publisher took the hint :)
Isn't much good though. Very glad I didn't pay >40 for it.

A new greatest hits in NA? Not likely (unfortunately). It's been nearly a year.

Way too short and it really brought nothing new to the table. The DLC, especially the second one, was a nice bonus, even if they charged us for it. Call me a pervert who needs to get a life, but they need to add better rewards to TR, like unlocking clips, a shower scene perhaps. Lara getting dressed? A Lara model you can look at and rotate in any direction, while she wears all the different outfits. Perhaps some minigames in the mansion too. Sex it up, who cares. Just give us more hidden goodies, more incentive to wanna play.
