Rock Band Weekly: Ministry, The Zombies, The Cranberries

Next week brings another eclectic selection for Rock Band Weekly, as metal meets rock with a dash of The Cranberries. For male vocalists, it'll be fun to warm up with some Zombies and then rip those vocal cords apart trying to sing Ministry tracks.

You're right. It would have made sense that if they were releasing songs by The Zombies, and they only were going to release one song by The Cranberries, that it would be "Zombie." It could have been a horror pack or something. Anyway, Linger is still a catchy song.

I wonder how long Zombie will be in my head this time.. Last time it got stuck up there I was singing it for days.

I second that. While "Linger" is a good song, it's a little... *yawn*. Who's in charge over there at Harmonix/EA?

He must have been saying "meh" all these weeks because he couldn't think of something as clever and witty as "pull my finger" to sing for the other DLC.

I'll pass on this week. I wonder when Snoop D-O-double G is coming...

Always good to see Shag with the "Meh". I'm sure we will see Snoop soon since his tour is starting up this summer.

Bush-era Ministry? Nah. How about some Psalm 69, The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste, The Land of Rape and Honey... stuff along those lines?

Just to clarify, I do plan on buying this pack, if only to support the further addition of industrial tunage to the Rock Band platform.

I like Ministry and KMFDM, but they wouldn't be fun to play in Rock Band. Both of them are too repetitive with sampled guitars and copy+past beats. Good for clubs, bad for playing.

If you don't believe me, download "More Human Than Human" by White Zombie and see what I mean.

I think "Light" and "Apathy" would be fun songs to play by KMFDM.

I want Mortal Kombat!
Vocals would be sweet.

"More Human than Human" is a bit repetitive, but it's still fun, in a way. If nothing else, it's fun to listen to... and if you're into it, that itself can make the track fun to play.

Some of KMFDM's stuff would certainly be repetitive, but they have such a wide discography (25 years and over a dozen albums) that I think enough could be picked out for a track pack. I'd love playing A Drug Against War, Flesh, Light... the Angst and Nihil albums would be ripe for picking tracks from.

I don't think he's thinking of "Juke Joint Jezebel," but rather the Mortal Kombat techno song that got some play when the first movie came out. It wasn't by either Ministry or KMFDM though, but The Immortals, a Lords of Acid side project.

I agree... That's not the Ministry I wanted! I was hoping for some 'Mind is A Terrible Thing To Taste' classics like 'Thieves' or 'Burning Inside'. Oh well.

It wasn't nice of Harmonix to telepathically scan my brain while I was sleeping and figure out precisely what songs they'd need to release to make me give them more money...

For record I'm taking about "She's Not There" and "Linger," which are two of my favorite songs. I fail singing on Easy but I'll have to try again for these two.

Very excited to finally have Ministry in Rock Band, I'm a huge fan so I'll be buying all 3 tracks. I just wish they would have gone with some of their older material. Now we need some Skinny Puppy!

Nothing is grabbing my attention at the moment, maybe I'll just play the last 20 or so tracks that I have downloaded but not played. Then again maybe a trip to youtube wil change my mind on this.

C'mon, Al. Just because you don't own the rights to the "good" Ministry stuff doesn't mean you need to keep shoving this sub-par industrial down our throats. Where's Stigmata, Thieves and So What? What about N.W.O., Just One Fix and Jesus Built My Hot Rod? Quit trying to line your own pockets and give the fans what they want.

Why even bother putting out a Cranberries song that isnt Zombie or Dreams? It's the only one people know.

Woohoo, Cranberries are my favourite band... hopefully they release more songs soon, specifically Zombie, Hollywood, Stars, and Forever Yellow Skies.

The quality of songs released lately has been very poor.

All very boring and predictable.
