Japanese middleware developer CRI found that 87 percent of developers it surveyed were interested in iPhone development. To be fair, as CasualGaming.biz reports it, the survey only talked to 102 developers. Of those surveyed, 18 percent had already developed for the platform. The top three reasons given for wanting to develop for the platform: simultaneous release in 80 countries; size of the market; and ease of purchasing on the app store.
Coincidentally, this news comes on the same day as mega third-party publisher Capcom stated it has 10 games coming out over the next year on Apple's mobile device. It looks like Gameloft -- which has done exceptionally well in the mobile space -- is no longer in a blue ocean.
