According to VG247, Codemasters has confirmed that its upcoming open-world racer, Fuel, has been delayed a week -- putting the game out on June 5 in the UK -- for the Xbox 360 and PS3, while the PC version is set to release soon after. It should be noted that VG247 is a UK website, so it's unclear if this delay also applies to North America. For what it's worth, GameStop lists the title for June 2, while Amazon maintains it will release on May 26. Our request for comment from Codemasters has gone unanswered as of press time, but we'll be sure to update this post when we have new information.
Still, even if the title is delayed, it's only a week outside of the originally intended May release window. Surely we can keep our post-apocalyptic racing urge in check until then.

I was excited before I saw the trailer. Sucks for them.

I'm still probably going to get it, but my interest has definitely waned. Whoever produced those trailers needs to be fired. I've never had a trailer actually DECREASE my interest in the game. The crappy music, the boring video, the odd showcases(an entire video about GPS makes them seem like they're grasping for something interesting but having a hard time). But, same here, this went from a day one to "ehh, I'll wait for the reviews."

I'm still excited about it, but one of the things that grabs me most is the expansive racing terrain. In a press release Codemasters had mentioned that the rendering program they used would have allowed them to replicate the entirety of the United States through satellite imagery, however they declined that option for fear that some of the more open expanses would cause for boring stretches. I would love for them to actually do this some day, maybe while dropping the post apoc theme just because I know tons of gamers would pick it up just to race through their hometown stretches or to explore.

I hope this game isn't delayed here in the States. Even if it is I would not mind the wait for such a great racer.

So... PC version is $20 cheaper than the console versions. That's a pretty big price difference.

Pretty much better when you don't have to spend money to Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo to use proprietary disc that are nothing but simple alterations of available media.

there have been a few videos posted here on joystiq which is more than most games get, plus the world record for the most square miles in a game.

The good news: Less to distract me from inFamous
The bad news: I love racing games and have to wait an extra week for one of the ones I'm most excited about :(

I'm not happy because the console versions are delayed, but because us PC owners finally get a Multiplat first!

Doesn't this mean that the PC version is delayed more than the console?

I think the PC version is coming out as scheduled , which is still a week later than the console versions, you'd think these discrepancies in release dates for the PC would mean that us PC users get decent ports more often than not...

I've never even heard of this game.
Codemasters need to fire their PR agency. Or at least get one, its the same with every game.
