Tecmo throws a Hail Mary, announces Family Fun Football
Family Fun Football also includes a "Simple Playbook" feature, which Tecmo claims will "[make] it easy for everyone to learn and understand the game of football." If that's the case, perhaps most of the Joystiq staff should be picking this one up! Overall it sounds like some good family fun to us. Apart from having to unlock the Mii Mode. That's kind of lame.

What the... Um... This reminds me of two things (aside from this game looking incredibly lame that is). And what is up with that muzak?!
1 - WHERE IS MY NEW MUTANT LEAGUE FOOTBALL!??! I'd just settle for a XBLA or WiiWare re-release of the original at this point. Blah, and PSN too I suppose for you kids that own that console.
2 - Why does this remind for some reason of Pitball for the PS1!?
MaRRODkez @ May 23rd 2009 2:09PM
Xav are you implying that barely any of the 'stiq bloggers really know how NFL football actually works?
veesofnaught @ May 23rd 2009 2:14PM
Having a conversation with your alternate ego, I see?
Mr Khan @ May 23rd 2009 2:47PM
EA wouldn't want to compete with themselves, i suppose.
Though you could do an ISO hack of "Blitz: The League" and add zombies and monsters or something, and call it MLF
Xav de Matos @ May 23rd 2009 2:56PM
I'm not implying anything.... I am flat out saying it.
MaRRODkez @ May 23rd 2009 3:03PM
WHOA, bold words :P, well I guess this might is right up their alley then!
t_m @ May 24th 2009 5:30AM
The new bloodbowl game looks awesome. Its on consoles right?
Go with the original franchise.
Donald @ May 23rd 2009 3:09PM
No Bo Jackson = no sale
And no, "Tecmo Joe" does not count.
Ed @ May 23rd 2009 3:10PM
Family Fun Football = FAIL
Family Fun Football Party = 1 BILLION COPIES!!!
RupeeClock @ May 23rd 2009 3:14PM
Oh, great, just what the Wii needs, MORE carbon copies of already existing and lousy software.
mr mobius @ May 23rd 2009 3:19PM
Looks like a European alternative to Madden.
Maybe Tecmo could turn it around and do the same for 'soccer' in America.
Nicholas @ May 24th 2009 5:39PM
Is that racist, 'cause RACISM MAKES NICHOLAS ANGRY!!!
Adolph @ May 23rd 2009 4:45PM
I guess Tecmo Bowl flopped on DS, so they didn't want to use that name. This looks like ass. So if I don't want Madden, or this what other options do I have ??
Blitz games are dead ??
Is Mario Football coming ??
RupeeClock @ May 23rd 2009 5:05PM
Where have you been? There's already been two Mario Football games!
...Wait, you mean american football, don't you?
ArchiGamer @ May 23rd 2009 5:27PM
"The arcade style casual game features...."
Ugh, pass...
BPMOmega [GT,Steam] @ May 23rd 2009 6:04PM
This is not Tecmo Bowl.
This is not Tecmo Bowl at all!
DO NOT WANT.
Feba @ May 23rd 2009 6:32PM
What really gets me is the lack of software on Wii in terms of sports/racing games that just goes for a realistic style. It worked fine on the PS1, and Gran Turismo or Madden on PS2 still look alright. Why must everything be cel-shaded and cartoony? Not that it's an invalid style, but it kind of eliminates the point to me.
HighFiveJesus @ May 23rd 2009 6:48PM
family fun!?
mini games!?
cartoony unrealistic teams!?
simple controls!
yaaaay wiiiiii
OTAM @ May 23rd 2009 9:13PM
Sounds like every other 3rd party title sitting on the Wii currently.
DBuck_Eye @ May 23rd 2009 6:48PM
Where's that Wii version of Tecmo Bowl? That I would buy.
jcar302 @ May 23rd 2009 7:04PM
Looks kinda fun, maddens has gotten too complex for average gamers.
Will i buy this? no, but i do think it will do well.
OTAM @ May 23rd 2009 9:12PM
Read the headline, looked at the picture, and asked myself out loud "It's for the Wii, isn't it?"
Never disappointed.
Anti-Villian @ May 24th 2009 3:37AM

MRLN @ May 24th 2009 12:56PM
If you don't understand American Football, then you can go on Wikipedia, read about it, buy a football, and look a lot less lame.
Nicholas @ May 24th 2009 5:41PM
Couldn't have said it better myself...
Gilbert Tang @ May 24th 2009 7:05PM
I am particularly impressed by the inclusion of both first downs AND touchdowns -- not to mention the TEN unique teams.
C'est stupéfiant!
