Amazon UK reveals inFamous PS3 bundle
76
Images of a supposed 80GB PS3 + inFamous bundle have been circulating the video game blogosphere for the past few weeks. Sony has been hesitant to comment on the package, but a recent online retail listing cleared up the confusion -- the bundle is real, and coming to Amazon UK on May 29. Those interested in simultaneously acquiring the shockingly good superhero title and the system on which it runs can grab both for £279.99. We've contacted SCEA to find out if this deal is coming stateside. Consider our fingers crossed.

"or has Sony drop the ball again"
If you have to ask this question, then they probably did.

The game isn't out yet. It's of limited value to advertise something people can't buy.
We'll have to see, but my prediction is Sony will drop the ball again.

Actually the advertisement has been pretty good, gamer wise having the Uncharted 2 beta in the first batch gives insentive to get the game fast, then sites like IGN have a big ad on the Playstation 3 page, the trailers have all been awesome so far, and the ad in the theatres was actually pretty badass, if the TV commercials run like that, It will sell a lot of copies

I wonder if the bundles will still include the Uncharted 2 beta. And whoever said it's pointless to advertise a game that hasn't come out yet...probably already works for Sony.
Anywayz, seems kinda silly to make a bundle with a game if you're not going to tell people over and over again that the game is great.
On the other hand, the two reviews I've read got the point across quite nicely.

@TheLionOfAzzalle: "Part of me thinks that since its a ps3 exclusive it will sell amazingly well b/c of lil hype it got here and there and the fact that there's not much out there to compete with it in terms of games."
Ohhhh. So that is why Halo, GeoW, Wii Fit and Wii Play sold so well. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

I don't know because the UFC game has been one of the most heavily advertised games I've seen since Halo 3. I've seen ads for it on just about every show I watch (guess they have their target demographic down) and saw them about 3 weeks before the game released. It really helps to reinforce the game to the consumer and gives them something to look forward to IMO.
At the end of the day the only way to know if they dropped the ball is if it doesn't sell well. I'm not sure what sales expectations are for the game but I know I'll be buying it on day 1. I did see a preview for it when I saw Terminator Salvation (as someone else mentioned), internet ads on gaming sites, some stuff in Gamestop and in print. I can't say I remember seeing an TV advertisement on the game, though, it could be that I never caught it or forgot.
Here is info about the ad campaign for Terminator Salvation:

Do I really have to explain it?
OKAY: RatchetnClankQFB is pictured in that link. That game was sold as a Blu-ray disc to the british public, while it was a downloadable game in the US. By bundling it the difference between it costing $15 and $60 becomes blurred.
Nothing. To do. With inFAMOUS.

To be honest, I wish that bundle was in the US when I bought my PS3 like 2 years ago.
I would love to have that second controller instead of a full game, lol.
