Amazon UK reveals inFamous PS3 bundle
Images of a supposed 80GB PS3 + inFamous bundle have been circulating the video game blogosphere for the past few weeks. Sony has been hesitant to comment on the package, but a recent online retail listing cleared up the confusion -- the bundle is real, and coming to Amazon UK on May 29. Those interested in simultaneously acquiring the shockingly good superhero title and the system on which it runs can grab both for £279.99. We've contacted SCEA to find out if this deal is coming stateside. Consider our fingers crossed.

These two things complement one another.
Bagels: Commander in Chief of the lolcat sarcasm alert force. @ May 24th 2009 6:07PM
If there's a game deserving to be bundled, its this one.
MariusElijah (Only on PlayStation 3) @ May 24th 2009 5:34PM
Does this game even have commercials or has Sony drop the ball again
Heavytoka @ May 24th 2009 5:38PM
There is a preview for this game when you go see Terminator Salvation
tmacairjordan87 @ May 24th 2009 5:41PM
"or has Sony drop the ball again"
If you have to ask this question, then they probably did.
why not the LS2LS7? @ May 24th 2009 6:10PM
The game isn't out yet. It's of limited value to advertise something people can't buy.
We'll have to see, but my prediction is Sony will drop the ball again.
Julian @ May 24th 2009 6:27PM
Heavy actually its during any movie, I saw it before Star Trek on Friday
slycooper_rocker (PSN SniperChameleon) @ May 24th 2009 6:48PM
sony's advertising department is notoriously suckish.
Julian @ May 24th 2009 7:06PM
Actually the advertisement has been pretty good, gamer wise having the Uncharted 2 beta in the first batch gives insentive to get the game fast, then sites like IGN have a big ad on the Playstation 3 page, the trailers have all been awesome so far, and the ad in the theatres was actually pretty badass, if the TV commercials run like that, It will sell a lot of copies
Troy Powers (PSN: TroyPowers) @ May 24th 2009 7:21PM
I wonder if the bundles will still include the Uncharted 2 beta. And whoever said it's pointless to advertise a game that hasn't come out yet...probably already works for Sony.
Anywayz, seems kinda silly to make a bundle with a game if you're not going to tell people over and over again that the game is great.
On the other hand, the two reviews I've read got the point across quite nicely.
azr_ @ May 24th 2009 8:24PM
@TheLionOfAzzalle: "Part of me thinks that since its a ps3 exclusive it will sell amazingly well b/c of lil hype it got here and there and the fact that there's not much out there to compete with it in terms of games."
Ohhhh. So that is why Halo, GeoW, Wii Fit and Wii Play sold so well. Thanks for clearing that up. :)
Kenny Powers Fastball (PSN johnnynumber5) @ May 24th 2009 8:51PM
I don't know because the UFC game has been one of the most heavily advertised games I've seen since Halo 3. I've seen ads for it on just about every show I watch (guess they have their target demographic down) and saw them about 3 weeks before the game released. It really helps to reinforce the game to the consumer and gives them something to look forward to IMO.
At the end of the day the only way to know if they dropped the ball is if it doesn't sell well. I'm not sure what sales expectations are for the game but I know I'll be buying it on day 1. I did see a preview for it when I saw Terminator Salvation (as someone else mentioned), internet ads on gaming sites, some stuff in Gamestop and in print. I can't say I remember seeing an TV advertisement on the game, though, it could be that I never caught it or forgot.
Here is info about the ad campaign for Terminator Salvation:

If I was voted down for something and Sprinkles came to my rescue, I'd rather remain voted down ¬_¬
Tez @ May 25th 2009 1:32AM
Doesn't matter. People don't want to pay for an expensive console in this economy right now. I love my PS3 but if I didn't already have one, purchasing the thing right now would be out of the question, no matter how good Infamous is.
The Dark Wayne @ May 24th 2009 5:37PM
shiiiiitt I might have to finally buy one now
Deadpool @ May 24th 2009 5:53PM
Buy me one while you're at it! No make that 10! I keep forgetting you're a billionaire.
The Dark Wayne @ May 24th 2009 6:02PM
just because I have billions doesn't mean I can't be frugal
ArchiGamer @ May 24th 2009 6:03PM
And yet you spent billions on fancy gadgets...
Rob47 @ May 24th 2009 6:11PM
He's only a millionaire cause he's smart with his money.
j.howlett @ May 24th 2009 6:12PM
i already have a ps3. could you buy this bluray http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05IqUUeBCnY
ThatPCgameryouhate @ May 24th 2009 6:18PM
Those gadgets have saved my life twice. Thank you Bruc- I mean batman.
ArchiGamer @ May 24th 2009 6:51PM
I just realized something:
Should Deadpool be talking to Bruce Wayne? I see a conundrum here...
slycooper_rocker (PSN SniperChameleon) @ May 24th 2009 7:14PM
@ Archi
you revealed his secret identity! now you've made batman mad. you're not waking up tomorrow because you'll be in a coma for the rest of your life.
ArchiGamer @ May 24th 2009 7:19PM
@ slycooper
Or I will become the next Robin. Any up for that?
......(crickets chirping)
Hello?
The Dark Wayne @ May 24th 2009 7:25PM

Bagels: Commander in Chief of the lolcat sarcasm alert force. @ May 24th 2009 6:09PM
Oh no! Now british people will think all PS3 games are short sequels void of features based off of the first game they get!
muir666 @ May 24th 2009 6:19PM
Yeah because all british people think like that :s
Plus the fact that this game looks fuckin awesome so why would we think that....

Bagels: Commander in Chief of the lolcat sarcasm alert force. @ May 24th 2009 6:25PM
Do I really have to explain it?
OKAY: RatchetnClankQFB is pictured in that link. That game was sold as a Blu-ray disc to the british public, while it was a downloadable game in the US. By bundling it the difference between it costing $15 and $60 becomes blurred.
Nothing. To do. With inFAMOUS.
Araskaz @ May 25th 2009 10:28AM
To be honest, I wish that bundle was in the US when I bought my PS3 like 2 years ago.
I would love to have that second controller instead of a full game, lol.
Ashitaka @ May 24th 2009 5:40PM
Can this be considered a price drop?
Alphathon @ May 24th 2009 6:15PM
No. It's a good deal, but not really a drop. Heck, in November I got a PS3 (80GB) + LBP + Force Unleashed + Blu-Ray (I Am Legend I think it was) + Official remote for £299.99. £279.99 is a pretty standard online price for console + game.
Bagels: Commander in Chief of the lolcat sarcasm alert force. @ May 24th 2009 6:27PM
"If only, if only", the woodpecker cries, the bark on the tree was as soft as the sky...
Ashitaka @ May 24th 2009 7:04PM
I don't know what Bagels means by that but whatever.
For those who don't have a PS3, this is the time to stop whining about the price and buy one. You can't get a better price/value than this.
slycooper_rocker (PSN SniperChameleon) @ May 24th 2009 7:15PM
bagels, what does holes have to do with this?
The Baron @ May 24th 2009 7:56PM
I beg to differ. Cashew nuts are the best price/value. They're 49p a pack and they're damn tasty.
Ashitaka @ May 24th 2009 8:43PM
You're a funny bunny, aren't you? :)
Young_Nastyman @ May 24th 2009 8:46PM
@The Baron
Butter Toasted or Garlic?
your answer decides your fate
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 24th 2009 5:42PM
This game is so awesome is like an improved version of Crackdown but is just me or the powers in the Hero side are better than the ones you get on the Evil side?
The only thing I didn't liked about the demo is the horrible Spanish translation,I hope I can play it in English with subs. The intro remids me about all the good bits of Watchmen.
Slaziman @ May 24th 2009 5:50PM
Last I heard they were gonna issue a patch for the inFAMOUS versions with no English language option included.
tmacairjordan87 @ May 24th 2009 5:55PM
I don't know all the powers since I don't have it yet, but going from the demo the one I do know is
Grenades that split into a bunch of little ones (Evil power) >>>>>>>>>> sticky grenades (Good power).
Bagels: Commander in Chief of the lolcat sarcasm alert force. @ May 24th 2009 6:10PM
I prefer sticky to split 'cause the splits can backfire + kill you.
Night Elve @ May 24th 2009 6:32PM
I totally agree with you here. I usually play games in English, but there are few games I truly enjoy in Spanish like Uncharted (Wonderful voice work here) and Resistance.
But the Spanish translation in inFamous is horrible, anyway just for the record this is day one purchase for me.
:)
dgknight500 @ May 25th 2009 2:48AM
The evil powers allow you to be more sloppy and just make everything explode while the good powers focus more on accuracy and restraining your opponents
sony boy @ May 24th 2009 6:11PM
Jesus, isn't this like 3rd ps3 bundle announcment in the last 3 months??!?!/
Off topic: i'm back everybody!! anyone miss me???
