Even Amazon isn't expecting too much traffic on this Memorial Day, as The Last Remnant for PC is the company's "deal of the day" for $27. The game won Japanese mag Famitsu's "rookie title prize" for 2008.
The PC version of The Last Remnant isn't as bad in the technical department as the Xbox 360 version, which was marred by some inconsistent frame rates, pop-in and loading times. The game isn't by any means a top-tier JRPG, but for PC players without a console, it's ... well, it's a JRPG on the PC.

Oh good, a not-so-great deal on a not-so-great game.

Woah pal, Famitsu gave it rookie of the year award. The same Famitsu that gave Nintendogs a 40 out of 40.
Yeah, take that.

Grinding rubbish. At least now there’s a correlation between the price and the cheapness of that ‘gates of hell’ fight.

The game heavily discourages 'grinding' because the enemies stats raise with your parties. Don't whine because you suck too bad to complete a game without hours of brainless, zombie-like exploit grinding. By the way, most of those 'exploits' were fixed in the PC version.

Actually I thought it was pretty good and addictive RPG. I have yet to finish it but what I did play was quite acceptable.
