Grab Bionic Commando Rearmed on XBLA for $5 this week

Major Nelson received accurate information this week indicating that the Xbox "deal of the week" would be Bionic Commando Rearmed for 400

($5). A small reminder: to take advantage of the deal, you must have an Xbox Live gold membership, otherwise it'll show as the standard 800

($10).

It's also worth noting that the Metacritic average for BCR is an 85, while the super new and flashy Bionic Commando is 70. Which one is getting five of your dollars?

I never played the original BC, so I downloaded the XBLA version. Sadly for the life of me I could not get into it, the mechanics were too retro for my taste.

I guess I would've loved this game as a kid, but it shows that not all game mechanics age well ( Punch Out being example of the opposite).

I also never played the original BC, but loved Rearmed. I really couldn't recommend it more, especially for that price.

Agreed, for that price it's a steal. Just download the demo beforehand to see if it's your cup-o-tea. ;)

Ditto. I never played the original and didn't love this one either at first. But after playing the demo thoroughly, I love it.

On a weird note, am I the only one that thinks that ReArmed Radd, and Albert Wesker were seperated at birth??

I bought this full price and got about 2 levels in before becoming way too frustrated and deciding it was too hard for me... casual gamers beware, this game is TOUGH.

I love Rearmed.

Might have jumped on this if it wasnt just for gold members....

but I guess I'll just get it on PS3...

did you miss the sale last week on psn? it was only $5 but now it's back up to $10. if you can wait it out it'll likely go on sale again.

I forgot it was on sale last week on the PSN. Hopefully the price will go down again, but I doubt it. At least both 360 and PS3 users got a chance to get a great game for just $5!

I got it when it was on sale on the PS3. Great game. I should go back and play it again. (If I choose "New Game", will it erase my existing save file?

Yes - you will loose your existing save (and powerups) but you will keep all your database stuff and Yaschis

My gold JUST ran out today and I wont be renewing for a little while since my 360 is out to repair. If they'd put this on last week like first thought then I would have been able to get it. Damn.

I already have it on PSN, but I might pick this up, it has a lot of things going for it

2. good game
3. cheap
4. I can achievement whore it
5. its also cheap

wow, if you can grind the achievements on this game easily, hats off to you.

thank god deal of the week is back to arcade games. its so much useful than 2 year old game content.

Best non-Fallout 3 game of 2008. No brainer.

Soooo worth $5. Really fun retro game, and the updates they did to it really were worthwhile. Plus the challenge rooms are addictively difficult!

Don't slam on the new Bionic Commando without giving it a solid chance. The multiplayer is probably my favorite game of the year.

Once you get the controls down, the game becomes absolutely amazing.
