We're one week away from the industry's biggest event, and Joystiq wants to play prediction bingo! For our second annual E3 Expo bingo cards, we've decided to poll our entire staff for their safest and wildest predictions for each of the big three media briefings.

Today we look at Microsoft -- since it's taking the stage first. Click on each of the squares above for more information about our predictions. Microsoft's E3 press conference is scheduled for next Monday, June 1, at 10:30 am PT (that's 1:30 pm Joystiq Time / ET). You have a BETTER chance of getting MGS4 on 360 than Versus....

You missed Half Life 2: Episode 3, the only FPS series that remains fresh. Gears of War 3? No thanks.

This is for the Microsoft Press conference. Why would they announced the release date for episode 3 at it?

If the release is simultaneous with the PC one, then yes, they would announce it, and because it is headed to the 360 they could show a teaser as well.

Maybe, but the orange box was also on the PS3. Oh well, no use fretting about it. We can just wait till E3 to find out.

@magetto: Let's define "on" in this context. It was technically "released" for Playstation 3 but it was so buggy that it was almost unplayable, even after patches. I think they might make it an Xbox 360 exclusive...at least there's a chance of it.

Who is going to be televising it this year?

the MS Conference will most likely be streamed via Silverlight again....

gametrailers are going to stream all 3 conferences plus the ubisoft and ea conferences. They'll all be in HD too.

Are Sony going to be doing their conference on Home?
That was the one aspect of the thing that remotely interested me.

Rumor is Sony might try that, as I heard they put a podium or stage or whatever in Home (I think in the plaza). In practice, it would be a giant clusterfuck unless they make it easy to make the big screen take up your whole screen since you have to usually be next to it and it's hard to select it when everyone's crowding the front area.

Damn it and me with a job interview to go to that day. Guess I'll DVR it unless one of these sites is going to archive an HD version.

@Snowblind: they did last year....but a lot of things have been removed from Home that were in that CLOSED beta.....so we just have to wait and see

I didn't have a PS3 last year, but if they do it again this year I'll definitely be interested in seeing that.. How did it work last time?

@Snowblind: I wasnt in the closed beta, but from what I seen on the net they basically added an "events space" and it looked JUST like the Sony E3 space and you could go in there and watch the presentation streaming

Too bad it's nomura-directed, which means there is almost no chance we could get it on 360 because he's an admitted sony fanboy.

I'd actually be a little depressed if we somehow got "Square Enix Classics Hit XBLA" if only because I just ordered Origins and Anthology to play again on my PS2. Not to mention the wii hasn't gotten em on the VC yet, and Nintendo should get em first since they were released there first.

Sadly, everything else on the sheet has a higher rate of happening than Alan Wake being released anytime soon.

I would have said that N3 was the most likely to happen
but "Microsoft" and "Free" never occur in the same sentence...
so I think that Alan Wake does have a better chance than some.

I mean sure Compressed video is not as good as UNCOMPRESSED...but I doubt it would look like shit....if thats the case Kojima wouldnt let it come out....

I just think Hideo Kojima is TOO big of a Sony and Apple fanboy to do it....but if it happens I wouldnt be surprised....

Personally, I think the game can fit on one dvd 9. There's only what, 2 CGI cutscenes? And then there's all that uncompressed audio that can be compressed. So, I guess it would likely not have as good as sound quality as the PS3, granted most people don't even have set ups that can fully experience the sound quality that MGS4 currently has.

they should jsut go ahead and release an ultimate version of MGS4 with trophies and all the DLC and the ability to play as Raiden. I'd repurchase MGS4 for that. Whether it be on PS3, 360, or both. I don't care.

Magetto is right. There is a lot of the "optimized for PS3" stuff that could be trimmed around, so its not as impossible as some might suggest.

I just feel that there's really no point in porting it at this point.

Good luck with motion sensing, or pressure sensitive buttons. The MGS games since MGS2 have taken advantage of pressure sensitive buttons, and AFAIK the Xbox doesn't have this feature.

Have you or the moron Kojima ever heard of a concept called "INSTALLING"?
It's simple you put 2-100 DVDs inside the X-box, and "INSTALL" the game to your system!
It's 10,000 time better than waiting 20 minutes in between chapters for the moronic game to load on the PS3.
Oh, don't like Installing 10 Disks? Maybe the game should have 90% of it's assets as "DOWNLOADABLE" from the internets!
You see the internets is a series of "Tubes" that can supply your gaming system with the graphics and sound files you need!

ROFL. Yes, Install 50 GB of data to your likely 20GB hard drive, or your 60 GB hard drive, which is too small. Even 42.5 would exceed 2/3 of the 360 standard hard drives. So, it would be an Elite bonus? Plus, the console would likely melt trying to uncompress one video. And, being DVD, the sound would suck.
I own both consoles, but I want more than a few reasons for owning both consoles, so I don't want this to go to the 360. Besides, as has been said, there are many features (SIXAXIS and pressure sensitive buttons) that the 360 doesn't have, so it's not really looking possible from a gameplay standpoint either...

and I wanna see that Gears 3 Square on the PS3 card....I mean has it been CONFIRMED yet that MS went ahead and snagged the rights of the 3rd one??

after the events of the first two, snagging gears 3 wouldn't make any sense at all. mass effect 2 maybe, but gears? nooooo. that's like microsoft getting LBP2. actually, even that makes a lot more sense than gears 3 on ps3.

It is actually. Microsoft owns the rights for a Gears of War trilogy. Trilogy implies 3 games, no?

no, microsoft owns the rights to gears, and media molecule made LBP for sony as a second party. sony published the game, but all in all, LBP could easily go multiplat if media molecule so desired..

no hyams, i checked myself. media molecule is second party to sony. sony funded MM for LBP and that resulted in exclusivity. media molecule has the option to go multiplat, but without sony funding things like advertising. gears is owned and developed by epic, but the publishing rights are held by MS.

and hyams, i'm saying that without looking at the links, because they don't actually go to anything significant.
