Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption delayed to fiscal 2010

The two titles are now planned for the first half of fiscal 2010, which spans November 2009 to April 2010. This means either of these games can still make the all-important holiday shopping season. However, even without Mafia and Red Dead Redemption, Take-Two still has a relatively strong lineup with BioShock 2, The Ballad of Gay Tony, and Borderlands.

I was actually looking forward to Red Dead Redemption. The trailer alone got me excited, looked like some epic western storytelling.
Also I wanted to shoot things and ride horsies.

I'm looking forward to both of these, despite not having played the previous games. Hopefully they put the extra time to good use.

what? with so many previews and videos everywhere of Mafia II I thought that game was almost finished, I guess that one is gonna come out on holiday season and the awesome Red Dead Redemption on actual 2010.

I didn't know when either was *supposed* to come out before this delay, so that's fine. Both look excellent. If the difference is anything like the jump in graphics the GTA IV delay brought, I'm even finer. :P

I totally understand they wnat to improve the games (and market the games more) but I think that in the process of delaying a game (or 2 in this case) only results in annoyed gamers and not much else.
