We're one week away from the industry's biggest event, and Joystiq wants to play prediction bingo! For our second annual E3 Expo bingo cards, we've decided to poll our entire staff for their safest and wildest predictions for each of the big three media briefings.

Today we look at Sony -- this year's most rumored about platform company. Click on each of the squares above for more information about our predictions. Sony's E3 press conference is scheduled for next Tuesday, June 2, at 11:00 am PT (that's 2:00 pm Joystiq Time / ET). As always, we'll be liveblogging the event, so you can play along in real time with us.

Actually Xav is refering to Joystiq as "we" considering he's a joystiq editor. Joystiq made the Sony bingo card, not Sony. He and the other editors ARE joystiq.

My hopefuls, in order:

1. Starhawk: videos and info. I love Warhawk to death, and anything new on the matter would make me jizz, right on the spot.
2. God of War III, demo and date: Because it's God of War, nuff said.
3. PS3 slimline: Would definitely change my PS3 for a slim, in a heartbeat.
4. Trico: We've seen a teaser, can't wait for the rest.
5. Party chat: Just to see how it would work.

Anyone else have favorites?

B 2-4 will happen. Wouldn't be surprised if GT PSP is finally shown.

I 1, 3, 4 and 5 will happen. I doubt they will do psp trophies with the heavy piracy rate.

All of N will happen.

G 1 and 2 will happen. Doubt they'll use LBP again for sales.

O 1, 2 and 5 will happen. They'll save teamico for TGS.

Also, they'll put a bunch of ps1 games up. The question is after seeing RE:DC, how much will they overcharge for games like metal gear solid and FF7.

Are you crazy? I'm a huge PS3 fan, but basically what you're saying is that ALL the rumours so far on the interwebz are being confirmed at E3. Those are the ones that most certainly (and most unfortunately too) aren't likely to happen.

I think the slimline will also be their $100 price cut. They'll probably stop production of all the others so once they're gone they're gone for good and the slim will be the standard model.

I'm hoping for ps2 emulation but I don't have a very good feel for if it'll happen. The psp go and party chat are all but guaranteed by this point.

PS2 software emulation is a tall order. A friend of mine is big into emulators, and even on his beefier-than-thou gaming rig, the PS2 emulator is still a stretch. A lot of games run sluggishly, and many hit titles simply won't run at all. I realize that Sony would have a leg up on unpaid emulator developers, but it is still doubtful. What I'd much rather see them do is an update to the psuedo-software emulator that exists right now, and that came with 80gb PS3's (mine included). I've seen an 80gb PS3 playing a PS2 game right alongside a 60gb PS3 playing the same game (completely hardware) and there was no visual difference. If they could smooth out any remaining bugs (to be fair, I haven't run into a single bug on my 80gb PS3 while playing PS2 games) that would be excellent.

I also doubt a slimline PS3. My PS3 blows out enough heat to keep me warm in the winter, and to make me sweat like a lumberjack during the summer. Shrinking it wouldn't seem to be a good idea. There is also the problem of a redesigned console costing more money to fabricate starting out; money which Sony doesn't really have. A price drop also seems out of the question due to them already taking a loss on every console. I think what they'll probably do is PS3 bundles with first party games. That would add value without actually having to lower the cost of the PS3.

We'll see.

Oh my god..what if there is a limited edition Trico PS3......I'm sorry wallet. Please make it happen Sony.

BananaBoat, I have heard that certain PS2 titles perform poorly on the software based emulation PS3s like the PAL 60gb units and earlier 80gb units such as the Rachet and Clank games. Some PS1 games also do not work as ALL PS3s, even ones with all PS2 hardware such as Chrono Cross.

I'm looking forward to hearing Fumito Ueda talk about the leaked Trico trailer. Or rather, I'm looking forward to confirmation of it being legitimate (I'd bet money that it is, it's too well done not to be).

Other than that, I'd like me some GOW3 and more MAG news.

Oh, and maybe full access to the graphics while in Linux mode? A man can dream.

Pretty much all the 360 exclusives that are left are games that can't possibly go any where else.

MGS4 and Versus at least have the potiential to end up on the 360.

Wouldn't it make more sense to work on MGS5 and make it multiplat as long as it isn't directly influenced by MGS4?

As for Versus, Square would look a little silly announcing it for 360 after last year taking away 13 and saying PS3 could keep Versus exclusive. I'd be wondering if they've taken something, lol

I'm just thinking about budgeting wise and cost effectiveness, as well as time taken to redo the game to suit 360, its not as easy a port as say, Bioshock was over to PS3.
