Uh...Konami didn't make Guitar Hero...they made Guitar Freaks. Which predates Hero and Pop n Music.

Right. But what he said was right too. He wasn't implying that Konami made GH.

Perhaps the lousy reception for Konami's lousy attempt, Beat'n Groovy, won't dissuade them from making a real Pop'n?

Why not, their lousy attempt at beatmania did the same for IIDX (we haven't seen *one* game since then) :/

Actually Activision, Raw Thrills and Konami did work together to produce Guitar Hero Arcade.

Guitar Hero Arcade's a joke. Its just Guitar Hero 3 with way overpriced songs (Seriously? I have to insert an extra dollar JUST to play Muse or Cliffs of Dover? Honestly?)

I would love to see these machines stateside, but I doubt they will release it to arcades. Especially with the economy and all, they shouldn't be wanting to take chances on a cutesy music game.

Well, hopefully they do a console release so I can get another PS2 controller for the japanese versions I have without paying an import price for it.

I've seen a kid with a controller, playing a Japanese version. Looks like the controller was ripped from the arcade cabinet in the video. If the fanboys really want it, they likely already have it.
I can't possibly see Konami selling this commercially. Especially with that controller, and generic techno soundtrack. Ask them how many DDRs for Xbox 360 were sold in the States without American music.

Yeah, there are arcade style controllers available. I had a Konami one a few years back... it was about $400, but I luckily was able to resell it for about the same after banging on it for a few months. A lot of people who do play Pop'n stateside don't have the arcade controller, though, and use the smaller home controller.

Hahahah nice. I really hope it gets released somehow; this game is really fun. Nothing better than a FOOD BATTLE in the middle of your music game. :)
