According to Gamasutra, Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey isn't buying the release dates Take Two is selling. Hickey has "concerns" about the announced release date for BioShock 2 -- October 30 in Europe and November 3 in North America -- "given the unannounced platforms and expected last-day-of-quarter release." We're not psychics or anything, but we get the feeling that the platforms just might be announced at E3.
Concerning the upcoming GTAIV expansion The Ballad of Gay Tony, Hickey is even less optimistic, saying it might not release until late 2010 or possibly even 2011, though he states that a fiscal 2010 release "seems probable." Quite a statement considering how heavily the DLC and GTA: Episodes from Liberty City factor into Take Two's plans for the rest of 2009.
Furthermore, Hickey resurrects the ghost of the EA buyout of Take Two, stating that the company is a "viable acquisition candidate" thanks to the fact that it has "some of the strongest video game development talent and IP in the world." Gamasutra adds that acquisition by another company is more feasible this year, as Take Two stock is trading for significantly less that it was at its highest point last year.

wow...could this guy be more wrong. the footage already shown of Bioshock 2 seems like its very close to being finished, DLC for GTA IV shouldn't be too hard to make seeing as A) it is DLC, not a full game, B) the engine and graphics and framework of GTA IV are totally at their disposal, and C) it doesn't have to be any specific length and the characters are already created

This better not be true (and probably isn't)... Otherwise 2009 will be a low point in gaming. Seriously, I haven't bought a 2009-release game *at all*, nothing is worth the trouble right now.
Besides, Bioshock 2, Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell, and Modern Warfare, there isn't much on the radar for the rest of 2009 either.

Do enlighten me then - and I don't mean that sarcastically. I'm STARVING for a good game. There's only so much TF2 a man can play before he goes stark raving mad.
I'm looking through the grand old list of releases since January... and the only ones that jump out are:
FEAR 2 (not really worth the full price of entry IMHO)
SF4 (not into fighting games)
Halo Wars (on the to-get list)
RE5 (played it, HATED it)

Well I thought Fear 2 was worth the price, but maybe because it was a birthday present haha. Im assuming you're going only for xbox games in which case there was Skate 2, GTATLAD, Star Ocean (dont care for RPGs but friends liked it), Warhammer Dawn of War 2 (PC but im assuming you have one since well, you're on the internet), 50 Cent Blood in the Sand, HAWX, Riddick, Wolverine, UFC, and upcoming there's RFG, Ghostbusters, Overlord 2, Wolfenstein, ArmA 2, FightNight 4, Section 8, ODST, Dragon Age, ME2, Brutal Legend, Gay Tony (fuck this analyst guy), Bioshock 2,MW2, Batman, Dark Void, Assassin's Creed, Alpha Protocol, Max Payne 3, Darksiders, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2,Singularity, and shit tman that's just the 360!

One day, I'll calculate the popular game blog that posts the fewest links to the inchoate ravings of "analysts" and just get my news from there.
I mean, seriously. Even console wars predictions are more grounded than this.

If EA really does try to buyout Take Two again, I wouldn't be surprised if their offer is much lower this time around.

The minute this tool even began to *imagine* saying something so shockingly retarded he should have been fired on the spot. GTA DLC in 2011? If he's right, I'll literally eat my copy of GTA 5 - box and all. And to think, someone gives this guy real world currency in exchange for his mind numbingly awful information.
Frankly, I can't even believe this is real - it almost seems like a joke to make people like me get angry and waste a few minutes of their time responding to.....oh....ahhaa! touche' good sirs!

I won't be too concerned if the Gay Tony DLC gets delayed, becuase I have GTA IV for PS3 but I'll be seriously annoyed if BioShock 2 gets pushed back because I had wanted that game to dominate the remainder of my game playing in Q4!
