If Macquarie Research analyst David Gibson's soothsaying proves accurate, then our E3 prediction Bingo cards are going to be huge winners -- if, you know, they were actually worth prizes or anything. See, Gibson recently put his keen analytical skills to work in order to foresee the revelations that will drop during the Big Three's conferences at E3 next week. We think there are a few crowd pleasers in his divination.
Gibson expects Microsoft's conference to focus mostly on the heavily rumored Xbox 360 motion controller, and the software that will launch in conjunction with the new peripheral. Sony's conference will supposedly also be hardware-centric, revealing a $399, slim PS3 model and the UMD-less, touch screen-equipped PSP Go!. His Nintendo predictions are the most shocking of all -- in addition to a large focus on Wii Fit Plus, Gibson expects the reveal of new Zelda and Mario titles. We'll believe it when we see it -- and we'll see it in like, six days.

"WiiHD is just Joystiq's "hardcore gamer" wish that will never happen."
#1 - You say that like it's a good thing that it'll 'never happen'
#2 - WiiHD is just the nickname for the Wii's predecessor

God I need to become an analyst. Here, lettme give it a try.
I predict just about every e3 rumor to NOT come true.
Someone bookmark this so we can find out who is the most accurate. Even if Im completly wrong on all but 1 account, ill just ignore the other ones, take credit for the one I did get right, and collect my check.

I say:
360 motion controller: Yes
PS3 slim: Will not be announced until August or September, and it will launch at $300, not $400
PSP Go!: Yes
Wii Fit Plus: Yes
New Zelda: No
New Mario: No
Anyway, E3 this year is mostly already spoiled, which sucks. =/

Oh, and the PSP Go! won't have a touch screen.
Hm... actually I'm not sure when the PS3 slim and PSP Go! will be announced... Maybe only one at E3, maybe both, maybe neither...

New coming from Sony this year isn't a question; it's a fact.
I don't know what you mean about non-existent lineups for MS and Ninty.

I think with the right software this whole 360 motion control could actually work well. So I'll see how that one goes. PS3 Slim is a maybe, depending on price. PSP Go! is a no no. I don't really play handhelds. Too be honest, I hate to say it but I'm not that interested in Nintendos conference as I'm not really a Wii fan (blasphamy from a long time Nintendo fan I know)

PSP Go is definitely what I am looking forward too, I am still rockin the PSP-1000.
I am hopeful a PS3 slim will spur sales of the PS3, but I have no intention of getting another PS3
Only thing that would stop me from buying a PSP go is if Zune HD had XBLA support, that would be a MEGATON!!!!

I'd be willing to bet that at least some of the analysts, either by job title or by virtue of being in the gaming press (because they ANALYZE the rumors etc.) already knows a good deal of what is going to show up next week, but can't say due to embargoes. Granted, there's always going to be surprises, but the fact is secrecy is dead. Good for some things (news of the PSP do-over), not for others (nobody's dropped hints about Mega Man Legends 3, so that's pretty much not happening).
I should also say that I have the unnerving habit of being 100% WRONG when making predictions like those above (I said we weren't getting Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, I said we weren't getting Super Mario RPG on VC, and I said there was no Chrono Trigger DS remake) so basically just take whatever I just said and believe the exact opposite.

I don't really care about a motion control (still better than YOU'RE IN TEH MOVIES though). But I'm really hoping for a PS3 pice drop.
*Also, in response to the Bingo Cards, I hope everything comes true, but I'm positive Crackdown 2 won't happen. Realtime Worlds is still working on APB...

I'm mostly excited for the rumored PSP2 without the UMD. Finally a handheld worth waiting for, in my opinion. Also in order to survive Sony would need to drop the price of the PS3, and what better way than to announce it at E3?! As for Microsoft's motion controller - meh! Whatev's

I hate to do this Insight, but you don't mean predecessor, you mean successor. Unless people called the GameCube the WiiHD...which they didn't.

Nintendo has a long and storied history of incrementally improving its handheld platforms. There is no reason why they couldn't do it with the Wii. I don't think they will, considering that they are making a profit on every Wii sold (and still having shortages in some parts of the world supposedly), but it wouldn't be without precedent.
There is no reason why the Wii shouldn't be able to handle 720p in much the same way that the PS2 and original Xbox did before it. It may not be at 60 frames per second, but it could be done. I would go so far as to say that it should be done, for Zelda and Mario at least.

My short list of most anticipated games reads something like this:
- Metal Gear Solid 5 (just on my radar as of yesterday)
- Team Ico's next project
- First "real" Wii Zelda
- Massive Action Game (hopefully it'll get a real title..)
- Beyond Good and Evil 2
I'm mostly looking forward to being surprised by new IP's during this E3. I know I'm going to buy Mass Effect 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Dead Rising 2, Modern Wafare: 2, God of War III, etc. There is no mystery there, like with the games on my short list.
I couldn't care less about motion control on the 360, a new PSP, or a slim PS3. I'm more interested in how they'll further integrate websites like Hulu. I think coming to E3 with the idea that you are going to win with hardware redesigns in the middle of a console generation would be a mistake. Was the PS3 being fat ever a deal breaker for anyone, for instance?
Just one week to go.
