Disney Interactive has announced Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, a new open-world action RPG in development at Turok dev, Propaganda Games. According to Disney, the game will take place before the events in the films, with "moral and character choices" promised that shape both the player's character and the game's world.
Beyond this, not much is known, though Armada of the Damned isn't scheduled to set sail until fall 2010 on both the PC and "next-generation" consoles. Still, after posting a considerable $45 million loss earlier this year, who can blame the company for diving back into its treasure chest for the few remaining doubloons left at the bottom.

If it's better than the Bethesda PotC RPG, I'll be very very happy

Complaining about Disney milking PotC, but Square Enix milking Final Fantasy is fine? Besides, this has nothing to do with the films, just the universe. And it's on PC, 360 and PS3.
This is the exact kind of pirate game I've been wanting. It sounds like it could be awesome.

FF games can play pretty differently from one to the next. FF7, and FFX in the case of FFX-2 are really the only things that get/got milked.
I must say I love Jonny as Jack Sparrow though, his best role to date in my eyes.

.....And with a name like Armada of the Damned, it doesn't sound very kid oriented like past Pirates games which makes it all the more promising.

The kid-friendly version will be subtitled "Armada of the Darned"

At least it's not based off a movie, so it has a chance.

I'm jsut saying that it could have a chance, though it is based off a movie franchise, but not going by what happened in the movies.

It would be nice to see the Events mentioned in the movies...Such as Jack asking Davy jones to Raise the Black Pearl, The Mutiny of Jack and them leaving him on that Island then Bootstrap being tied by his bootstraps to a cannon and thrown to the bottom of the Ocean....
I REALLY hope that its done well....

I'm actually going to cross my fingers and hope that Disney is going to miraculously produce something GOOD. How's that for optimism? :)
...Though my point of view may be a little slanted since I've been re-watching Disney classics recently.

A Pirates of the Carribbean game with a combat / play system similiar to prince of persia would be great. Don't spam small time battles but make each battle seem important.
