And if it can offer up some solid multiplayer a la L4D, count me in!

Why not just play L4D then? There's no way this will be better than that.

-1 point for you sir for making such an assumption. hey! how about you try this! wait for the game to be released and THEN swing by and crap, shit, spit and piss on the games good name (should it attain one at the time) all you want!

Maybe because they're two different games, it's not like there's some law stating that you're only allowed to play one co-op game for your entire life. And a game being better than L4D isn't as inconceivable as you think, though how this one will stack up remains to be seen.

what the hell happened to my post?

I love my wii, (go ahead and make fun of the pun) but its great pick up and play ability makes it much more accessable because i don't have days on end to conquer a game. Madworld was a great start to the year and I look forward to the Conduit and more announcements like this. Not to say that i wouldnt be excstatic over a validation of the Mario Paint type game somewhat announced earlier today

XBLA & PSN say 'Hello'.

Sure, it's a great console for people who don't own any other consoles. But huh...

Sorry, I have to stop here. I feel very uneasy ranting about the Wii, when there is someone who clearly enjoys it for what it is.

I'm very happy for you, Jay. That's what gaming is all about. Having fun the way you like it.

thank you for coming to your senses at the last moment my friend. it is better to own all three consoles (if possible) and play the games you enjoy most with all three consoles, rather then be a stupid fanboy and miss out on all the great games or exclusive DLC or features (because one way or another a certain console WILL exclusives and NOO i am not at all referring to the xbox360) those consoles have to offer.

To be honest, the last game I bought for my Wii was Super Mario Galaxy and I lost interest in the console after that. Because of this silly little debacle we're having here, I might consider picking up MadWorld and Punch-Out just to see 'sup in the world of the Big N.

And, really, this time I'm not even kidding. Here's hoping E3 will deliver in all 3 departments this year.

These guys are becoming the new kings of generic. Stop trying to attract the FPS crowd from 360/ps3 cause they're not going to leave for a wii shooter, specially when it looks as bad as that.

And I don't care what a game looks like. If I can have the time of my life playing it, then that's a game that's gonna be spinning for a long time. As a matter of fact, I own all 3 systems, and the games I've complete more games for my Wii than my 360 or PS3: Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, Madworld, WarioWare Smooth Moves and Smash Bros Brawl.

Sorry it's hard to give them a chance when I see their history and they've put out nothing but shovelware and movie games, and then I look at the Conduit and everything about it screams generic. They need to stop trying to pretend like they're making games for the HD consoles and play to the wii's strengths, because what they're doing looks awful to our standards.

Here's an idea. If they want to make shooters and mature "realistic" action games so bad, make them on the HD consoles. I don't think they have the guts to do it, because they realize that games like the Conduit would get buried by all the other mediocre generic shooters on our consoles.

I personally could care less about the visuals. I bought Killzone 2 played it, liked it, graphics were amazing, however I did not have as much fun playing that as I did Metroid 3 on Wii.

I own all three systems and I will admit that I have not turned on my Wii in over six months, but I am just waiting for a game to grab my interest. Hopefully either this one or the Conduit will do that, for myself and other gamers.

tmac, I feel sorry for you man. You're missing out on what games are supposed to be about. You're too caught up on the visuals. When you play a game, do you just boot it up and stare at whatever is in front of you? I hope not. The game should be about the experience you pull from it. Now it's one thing if characters are walking through walls and the color palette is all shot to hell, but all you've seen of this game is a still screen shot that, for a Wii game, looks pretty on par to me. My suggestion is to go spend some real quality time with your games.....maybe beat one of them?

You're telling me to beat some of my games when you apparently haven't beaten 6 games for your two other consoles? I've completed more than that this year alone and I don't even have gamefly.

Hell, I'm already about halfway done with Infamous (blast shards, audio tapes and all) and I just got it yesterday morning. Sometimes I regret that I'm good at games, cause I don't like beating games fast :(

They're not trying to win the shooter crowd from PS3/360, that's pretty obvious. HVS is a team of guys who love the wii and want to make some fun games in genres that are grossly underrepresented on wii. Anyway, IR for shooters is the way to go if you ask me

Saying that The Conduit and these other games would be all but ignored on the HD console is ignoring a basic fact: these games are being designed from the ground up for the Wii. They're being designed with a pointing, slashing, and generally more physical interface than any game for one of the HD consoles.

If you take away the interface and replace it with buttons, the game becomes generic. It would sort of be like designing a game for the PS3 and then taking away the HD graphics. The game would become generic.

Not my kind of game, but I'm glad to see that somebody is developing new original games from the ground up specifically to take advantage of everything the Wii can do.

Are you ever actually going to say anything new tmac? You've been repeating yourself for a while now. Your masculinity is so how threaten by a console, we get it. You only come here to whine about bitch about it, and complain about games you never played, despite how little that will actually help your own personal problems of insecurity. Good management of your time indeed.

Right, my masculinity is threatened by a barely-better-than-ps2-looking realistic game. You do know that makes absolutely no sense right? You're only supposed to say that to someone when they say a kiddie looking game looks "gay" or something to that effect.

I probably said I'm tired of all the cartoony games on the wii, but frankly that's what they HAVE to do because as we see here, it looks bad when you try to make a realistic game on Wii.

@tmac:

HVS is not trying to attract the 360/PS3 gamers. They're focused on Wii owners, who may or may not own a HD console.

All consoles have their game darlings--games that is loved by owners and sell high numbers, even if the games are run of the mill. HVS is trying to get that status, because, as Eric has said more than once, Nintendo owners are loyal customers.

HVS has made a point: The Wii is capable of better graphics than we have seen for the most part. At the same time, there's more to their reasons for developing a Wii FPS--the controls. They have said several times that they think the Wii's controls are better than a traditional gamepad and second only to mouse/keyboard.

The fact is that you're a troll. You hate Wii games with realistic graphics. You hate the cartoony ones. You just plain hate the Wii. So, why bother posting other than to get (negative) attention.

Also, you apparently don't understand business, especially game development. It takes a bit of money to develop new IPs. It's not uncommon for game developers to develop for other IPs to build up money for their own ideas.

I was on IGN last night, and they had all of the news joystiq is posting today, plus more that I still haven't seen on joystiq, and there stories were more in depth, accurate, and lacked the annoying editorial opinionated comments in every article.

Combining this with the fact that joystiq is slow and buggy as hell, no videos posted on the site ever play properly, and half of the time I go to this site, something causes IE to have an error and be forced to close, I'm pretty sure this is going to be the last time I visit joystiq. There's really no point in it anymore, it used to be the accurate, small, quickly accessible and reliable source, but it's lost all of that.
