We're one week away from the industry's biggest event, and Joystiq wants to play prediction bingo! For our second annual E3 Expo bingo cards, we've decided to poll our entire staff for their safest and wildest predictions for each of the big three media briefings.

Today we look at Nintendo -- this generation's sales behemoth. Click on each of the squares above for more information about our predictions. Nintendo's E3 press conference is scheduled for next Tuesday, June 2, at 9:00 am PT (that's 12:00 pm Joystiq Time / ET). As always, we'll be liveblogging the event, so you can play along in real time with us.

I'm pretty sure Earthbound isnt coming to the VC. I remember Ninty saying that they decided against releasing it on the VC because of the humor or some stupid excuse. They felt that since the humor and references were very 90s oriented, it would detract people form playin it on the VC or something to that extent.

Nevermind, found the reason on Destructoid. It got caught up in many legal issues due to all the 90s references. I remember now Ninty pretty much saying due to this they weren't going to release it. So no Earthbound VC it seems. Kinda surprised its even on here.

Last time I checked, the year was 2009.

Few more

1. Pikmin 3 gets announced
2. Wii gets USB external Hard Drive support
3. Ability to install game disks on the hard drive (like X360 has) - requires point 2
4. Wii gets downloadable game demos - requires point 2

While I believe that point 1 might happen, I guess all three following points are no chances (although I would like them).

Wii doesn't need an external hard drive - it supports 32GB SDHC cards, and if for some reason 32GB isn't enough, you can always buy two. Not saying an external HD wouldn't be a good option, it's just not really necessary.

That kind of capacity, especially with the fact that Wii games can be much smaller than PS3/60 titles in terms of textures etc, should already allow downloadable full game demos (although admittedly I don't know how the transfer rate compares to the Wii's DVD drive). However, I don't think they will start doing demos anyway.

As for point 3, which Wii games have loading times so seriously annoying that you would need to install them on faster media? When I get annoyed by Wii game loads it mostly seems to be 'forced' loads at the start (like where it's not really loading, just pausing to make you look at the logo for no reason) rather than a level load or whatever. I've got the impression that most games load relatively quickly compared to other platforms...?

Actually, if any Mario game, I'd be expecting a sequel to New Super Mario Bros for the DS.

Oh man, wouldn't it be awesome if they finally got Metroid Dread out on DSi?

Also, DSi having it's own virtual console with Gameboy/Color games would make a lot of sense. Maybe Gamegear as well.

Waht? Don't you guys know? The DSi store is supposed to carry GBA/GBC/GB games on it like the Wii's VC. It might also carry Game gear games. No lie, heard it from our store's nintendo rep.

Another [lackluster] predictable Nintendo E3 showing. It's okay I suppose, they'll show off a new Zelda and the fanboys will rejoice.
