Several big retailers are offering their own individual incentives to pre-order any console version of Activision's Guitar Hero: Smash Hits, which comes as no surprise to everyone on this big, blue spinning rock. The Guitar Hero franchise is big business, and when you cull the cream of the crop from each game and put that into a new game, well, then you have a recipe for success.
We've listed the pre-order incentives for GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon, and GameCrazy past the break, so click through to check them out.
no I'll end up buying it from gamestop (who I hate) only because I have a $10 gift card for complaining that they butt F*ed me in the GH:mettalica drum pedal dabocal
Wow. A whole lotta nothin. I've already got 5 pairs of drumsticks....Oohh, a whole $5? Where do I sign up?....Give me a break.....And a cheat code that does what? Turns no fail on or something else completely useless. Thanks, but no thanks. What a joke this game is anyway. They should've just made it DLC.
Good job Best Buy! Because NO ONE who pre-orders Smash Hits bought a WT game at all. I picked up the guitar kit last month only when Toys R Us had it for $50, so that $10 off still wouldn't make any WT kit a deal. And if you read the find print on BB coupons, they usually say they don't apply to sale prices.
I'm getting the best deal by just not buying this re-hash, and instead putting that same money into Rock Band track packs. Some would say that's hands-down the best bonus.
something both RB and GH desperately need is more incubus. and unfortunately GHSH is the only way to get any kind of plastic instrument incubus action, so I'm pretty much obligated to get this game.
i love when people say they have to buy a $60 disk because it has 1 song they really like. It would cost you just $2 if the song came to Rockband. Oh well I guess some people will never understand.
You know, I like the idea of the old GH songs, but...with all the hype going behind Guitar Hero 5, I can only see this game crashing and burning. I mean, shouldn't THIS game be hyped first?
This is going to be a day one purchase for me. They hit on nearly every song that I wanted included from those past games (the Guitar Virtuoso pack from GHIII being the primary void).
I think I'm going to use my "late order" bonus of $40. You know, since just about every guitar hero game drops to $20 after not too long a period of time. I can wait, since I guess technically I already have these songs.
If they were smart and did DLC I'd probably have paid the $60 they want.
well with the apoxomite $2 per song, lets see $2x48 songs= a whopping $96. hmmm.... $96......or $60.........96.......60......hmmm.....thats a real hard choice....
I only want 23 of those songs though so its actually only $46. And 2 of those songs are in RB2. Plus the fact that I bought I bought 5 of those songs as part of a discounted pack. So its even less than you say. Plus I don't have crap like Caught in a Mosh polluting my harddrive.
Well "if" it didnt come to Rockband2 I still wouldnt waist $60 for one song. overkill619 proves that people still dont get that you only have to buy the songs you want with DLC and not a whole disc.
There is only one reason I would question why this isn't DLC: If the members of Aerosmith AND Ozzy's motion captured characters do not make appearances in this game I will need to start bitching like all the rest of you "I have too many periherals but because I won't sell them I am going I complain they are making too many games" crying noobz.
