Shaun White Snowboarding sequel is Wii-exclusive
Ubisoft has announced that its sequel to last year's multiplatform Shaun White Snowboarding is coming exclusively to Wii. Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal and is planned for a holiday 2009 release.
The move to a single-platform release may seem surprising, but it's made less so when you consider that the Wii version of the first game outsold other versions by nearly a 2:1 margin. We've contacted Ubisoft for comment on the decision and to clarify whether or not this news marks a full-stop for the franchise on other platforms. In the meantime, start waxing those balance boards.

Ooh! Maybe if we're lucky Shaun will show up at e3 again. that was most definitely my favorite part of nintendo's conference
not
Sidebuster @ May 27th 2009 2:08PM
You had me going at first there.
But seriously. I am looking forward to Shaun white snowboarding on the Wii.
Sike.
j.howlett @ May 27th 2009 2:12PM
maybe they'll add it as dlc for the other platforms, might even add support for the tony hawk board.
Ghen @ May 28th 2009 4:34AM
Seriously. They should definitely team up on that. Paying $60 for a peripheral doesn't sting so much when its over 2 games.
Storm Eagle @ May 27th 2009 2:13PM
Thank god! Keep the shit over there where it belongs.
Can I has new SSX now pweaze?
chrisnick @ May 27th 2009 2:15PM
man im jealous... wish i could have those graphics running at 60fps on my ps3.
Skittenz @ May 27th 2009 2:56PM
OH ho ho ho, dat is funny because the Wii's graphics are not as good as the graphics typically found on the PS3! But you made it sound like the Wii's graphics are superior! Ohhh yes!
chrisnick @ May 27th 2009 3:03PM
oh oh yes! i recognize sarcasm, but instead of laughing reading and moving on, i must belittle someone else's attempt at being a smart ass, by being more of a smart ass but instead i failed and looked like a typical douchebag.

its a family guy quote.
Duke @ May 27th 2009 2:19PM
Sequel? Bah! I was hoping for a prequel so we could understand the story better.
Insight is the mustard of your doom @ May 27th 2009 2:27PM
Or maybe a remake of the first, but this time with fun
I have yet to play it with the Balance Board but it's slow and pretty boring, and the Wii Remote controls just aren't that great
SegaPleaseMakePanzerDragoonWii! @ May 27th 2009 2:33PM
Dope. The first one was incredibly fun to play using the balance board on Wii. I heard that the other versions weren't nearly as good anyway, so they should stick with their strongest suit. I'm suped!
DEEZNUTZ @ May 27th 2009 2:54PM
The perfect demographic for this game...
Avada Kadavra 9 @ May 27th 2009 2:56PM
It sucked anyways. Oh man I just realized I have a Wii! In a box in the basement for the past year for non playing.
baby sea tuna @ May 27th 2009 3:11PM
Hope that box has a lid on it. The internet tells me those things get quite dusty!
Jujicabra @ May 27th 2009 2:56PM
The first game was actually decent, it's just too many people were scared away when it was announced at E3...
hopefully #2 will have a character creator like the other versions of #1.
Mr Khan @ May 27th 2009 3:30PM
Ubisoft is set to really own the latter half of the year on Wii, i think. Rabbids Go Home, Red Steel, TMNT, and this.
uncle jesse @ May 27th 2009 3:44PM
Yeah, I kind of like their strategy. Seems like they are trying to hit every type of gamer, core and casual, with a nice mix of titles. They're not dumb. They see the money being made with the Wii and are going for it.
Here's hoping these games turn out great.
Collymilad @ May 27th 2009 3:58PM
Bye Ubisoft.
Roto13 @ May 27th 2009 5:06PM
Apparently the Wii version was a lot better than the other versions anyway. 78 on Metacritic, as opposed to 60.
TrojanGuy @ May 27th 2009 5:58PM
Probably because us Wii owners are starved for half-decent games, and 360/PS3 owners aren't willing to pay for a mediocre one.
intro94 @ May 27th 2009 6:51PM
specially when their version is the worst one
Dv8thwonder @ May 28th 2009 6:52AM
Another great game the Wii haters wish they had.
