We still have no idea why it's taken Sam Fisher so long to return to us, but at least now we have a better idea of when he'll be back. Ubisoft narrowed the release date for Splinter Cell: Conviction to Q3 of this fiscal year (between November 2009 and December 2009) in a conference call this morning.
We also got narrower release windows for games like Assassin's Creed 2 (Q3), Red Steel 2 (Q3) and Ghost Recon 4 (Q4). You can check out the full list right here.

Yes but we still don't know if Splinter Cell: Conviction is definitely coming to Playstation 3... or do we?
Anyway, it's my belief that the game (at worst) will be the last of timed exclusives for Microsoft. Seems kind of ridiculous not to have a Splinter Cell game on a PS platform.

Is Splinter Cell 5 still 360/PC exclusive?

I dunno, I want the new AC to be good, but it just seems kinda...stupid a bit now.
We lose altair as the main guy, we lose the coolness of the missing finger thing, and im really wondering how having 2 stealth blades is going to be efficent. You only used the damn thing for assassinations, and I cant see it being anything less than a pure gimmick if you need to be assassinating 2 people at the exact same time and they just happen to be standing right next to each other.
Also looks like youd have a hell of a time not stabbing yourself with those things.

wait, you never went into combat and JUST used the blade to assassinate/counter? it was badass, and in the next game you only always have the hidden and throwing blades, weaponry has to be taken from guards so I'm guessing the dual blades is to make it easier, this game alone is why i cant wait for E3

Why use the hidden blade in a fight when I came equipped with a long sword, short sword, and instant kill throwing knifes?
And even still, its grossly impractical. A dagger would pwn the shit out of a blade so awkwardly postioned. Yeah I get its a video game but still, its too....stupid for me to wrap my head around.

A dagger can't beat a sword depending on the user. Altair (the main character in Assassin's Creed) is an expert on counter attacking opponents which is why you are able to fight with the blade. I loved fighting with the blade alone in AC1. Makes you feel like such a badass.

oh, if we're nitpicking;
Why does he still have all his fingers? Bugged me from the very first pic!
How does his belt stay on? As far as I can tell the lower buckle would fall off and stab him in the nuts or something..
Why does he feel the need to not hide his left stealth blade?
How is he meant to not stand out? I mean I don't even think he could blend with monks nowadays...
Those out of the way (hardly game breaking or a deal breaker) cant wait for this thing. If they fixed the monotony then this should be just about perfect.

Assassin's Creed 1 was a disappointment to men, very overrated. Im hoping part 2 wont be the same repetitive mindless game play. I am most excited about Red Steel 2 and the prospects of what Motion Plus can do to make the Wii actually function as it should have out of the box.

Another smothered holiday. Well Assassin's Creed 2 and Ghost Recon are must haves for me. Perhaps I'll pick up Splinter Cell sometimes after...depending upon how high it rates on the Emo-meter.

I don't know about Ass. Creed? I think there's going to be some tough competition from a lot of other Q3 games. I might check it out down the road... but not Q3.

I don't know about you guys, but I am excited about the new Splinter Cell and the new Assassin's Creed. I love how in Splinter Cell you have to be smart and strategic, and you can't just run in with guns blazin. Although the game play was somewhat tedious in Assassin's Creed, the new version looks rather intriguing. I have a feeling I am going to want to purchase both of these games but not for the ridiculous price in stores.
