I played TF2 for the first time during the free weekend, ended up buying it cause I played so much.

I wonder if I'll do the same with this.

I did the same thing last free weekend of UT3, but it doesn't seem like anyone else did. After the free weekend was over there was NOONE left to play with on Australian servers.

I've been playing TF2 for awhile, and it runs fine. I remember trying UT3 out awhile ago on a free weekend and it runs like crap on my computer. So I'll probably pass on this. This game is pretty much dead anyway.

Fresh Meat!

I'll probably play during this free weekend even though I already own the game. Everyone seems to be so skilled (the ones who own the game) and I usually get rocked on servers. All of the new people trying it out will be a nice change of pace.

I bought UT3 a few months ago for 10 bucks at EB. I loved it but the community is pretty dead. I guess it was the high system requirements that did it in.

Imho it wasn't the computer specs that killed the game, it was god awful user interface, horrendous game browser and total lack of patches or updates that would address that. Yeah I am pissed, I ve spent 50 on Unreal Pack and I played Unreal Gold more than UT3. The game has great visuals and gameplay but its like in the middle of a pool of sh1t. One must go through all the crap to play a match. CliffyB has still a chance to fix it.
And after the free weekend there wont be any players left on it.
And that is the other thing, when you join a server to play you better have a bunch of friend to play with you because usually the servers have only a few players who are near newbies drawn to the game by mistake. Forget about quality gaming. Its quite frustrating playing VCTF with people who rush to the vehicles and have absolutely no clue about team play.
UT3 is a bastard and forgotten child of Epic and the hope of them fixing it is slim to none. They are probably busy making another GOW.

Go to favorites tab.
Click favorite server.
Play.

Takes me like 2 min to get into a game after unreal 3 loads....

I bought UT2k3 later in its "cycle" cause it was cheap. Turned out that the only people left playing were pretty much the best... so I could barely even get one kill in per map.

Won't be doing the same with UT3. Plus if I want Unreal Engine action, I've got Killing Floor on Steam.

I dont get with all the unreal 3 hate, its my most played game on my pc right now after Guild Wars.

The server I play on is always populated at night, and during the weekend it even gets full, and its a 32 player server. Offical Epic Warfare server #2 in america, come play sometime.

Yeah, Guild Wars is alot of fun. In matter of fact I am playing it as we speak.
I tried UT3 once, but it wasnt my type of game - it didnt run very smooth on my pc neither - so I will probably pass this one too.
