Zune Video coming to Europe, no Zune included

The good news: Zune Video, the expanded version of the Zune Marketplace that combines the current Zune download shop and the Xbox Live Video Marketplace, is coming to Europe. The bad news: according to The Guardian, there won't be any Zune HDs on which to play the stuff bought with Zune Video. At least, there aren't any plans to release the device outside of the US yet.

The other bad news: In a correction at the top of the post, Keith Stuart clarifies that "the service coming to Xbox Live is Zune Video NOT Zune Marketplace. Music is not part of the Xbox Live offering." This is still wonderful for European Xbox 360 owners hoping for expanded video offerings -- but less great for those hoping for expanded music offerings, or those hoping for expanded Zune offerings.

I highly doubt that

Almost everything Zune has done is at least ONE YEAR behind what Apple does. So I imagine around this time next year MS will have a completely integrated, all-inclusive store for all of their devices, selling music and movies, and rentals. Like iTunes has for the last couple of years.

I can't see them continuing to confuse customers like this current plan will. They need to get it together if they want to factor into this at all.

So since the Zune is still not a gaming system it's still irrelevant and we should care if they offer some videos on it.

It IS a gaming system. It's gaming capabilities are being revealed at e3, but considering the rest of the leak proved true, it's fairly safe to assume it'll be cross compatable with XBLA and be able play XBLA games.
