Sadly, the Sony Aino mobile phone isn't the fabled PSPhone, but it does support one feature from the handheld device. Using the phone, you will be able to access your PS3 via Remote Play and, because the device is 3G enabled, you won't have to rely on Wi-Fi access. Once connected, you'll be able to stream movies, images and music from your hard disk drive.
Europeans will also be able to access PlayTV, allowing them to view, pause and rewind live television, as well as setting programs to record from afar. There's no indication of whether the phone will have access to the PlayStation Network store or the friends list, but that would be the icing on an already tasty cake. Having this feature on a cell phone makes perfect sense -- hopefully this is something that will become a lot more prevalent in the future. Who knows, one day we might see a Remote Play iPhone app. We'd love that.

You can, given a fast enough connection. Works well - probably best to turn down the quality though for best performance.

The problem with SE phones is that, at the time of their first reveal, they ARE amazing and actually do gather a hell lot of attention, but from the time of reveal to the release time, it is a hell of a long time...
SE needs to learn to reveal information not long before release time...technology, specially when it comes to the cellphone industry, goes rather fast

I'll be buying it. Ever since i went from SE to an HTC Fuze, i've kinda missed my SE.
This just seals the deal to go back to SE phones.
ALl of their good phones never seem to come to our shores/network providers. or your waiting forever for them to.
I wont be surprised if we cant buy this until next year.

SE can make all the sexy hardware they want, they'll keep failing if they keep using WinMo. They should go the Apple and Palm route and develop their own OS and hardware.

Between Joystiq and Engadget, why don't you have an iPhone or Apple blog and get all your smart remarks off these blogs? "Who knows, one day we might see a Remote Play iPhone app. We'd love that." Who knows, you may never see anything remotely to this on the iPhone, but maybe you will see it on the Zune touchscreen. I swear...Apple Fanboys...

Not a hope in hell. This particular model uses the network tech currently employed by at&t and T-Mobile (and you can import it for $$$BIG BUCKS$$$ to use on those networks).
Sony Ericsson hasn't made a phone on Verizon's network tech in six years or so.

I purposely went with a Zune because I hate Mac Fanboys. I don't hate Mac's, they're ok; It's just the ego's of Fanboys. No need to worry, I found a different blog to get my news.

It's a proprietary Sony Ericsson OS. This is a feature phone, but not a smartphone like the G1/Pre/iPhone/BlackBerry

Sounds neat for the small niche that not only has a wealth of media on their PS3 (don't know amy personally) AND has this phone.
Thing is, not like I'm a Windows Mobile fan, but Orb on WinMi has been able to do this exact same thing from your PC for years. Orb has since been ported to other mobile platforms too, like iPhone.
I think a better idea would be to have the ability to stream everything from your PC to every other device, including the PS3 and cellphone. Which I think you can do as well.

Looks really cool. What OS will be on there? Cause if it's Windows Mobile, that's an absolute deal breaker. But if it has a nice interface and is actually a good phone, I might seriously consider this.
I like the fact that phone cameras start having flash now - it can actually make them useable!

awesome cameras with flash have been on SE phones for ages, thats why i became a fan of SE phones years ago when the w810 came out because it had one of the best phone cams and a flash. I just havent found a SE phone that could be considered an w810 successor since...
