Dead Space Extraction severing limbs September 29
Electronic Arts has narrowed its previously announced fall release window for Dead Space Extraction. The Wii-exclusive experiment is set to slice into retail shelves (and necromorphs' limbs) in North America on September 29. Adventurers overseas have a bit more waiting to do, with the game expected to ship in Europe on October 2.
Extraction promises a number of new features over the original Dead Space, including co-op gameplay as well as new weapons and enemies. We were left impressed following our recent time with the upcoming "guided first-person shooter experience," and assuming our limbs can take all that twisting we look forward to turning back the alien scourge this fall.

Jason Statham (Aka Vegeta) @ May 28th 2009 2:00PM
Nah man, I think you're giving the Wii too much credit.
those graphics look like they're from the virtual boy.
Vegnagun bwf @ May 28th 2009 2:07PM
Have you ever even seen Super Nintendo graphics?
tuunicopapi @ May 28th 2009 9:42PM

Hey, I know. I actually upvoted you. :)

HA HA. YOU ARE SOOOO FUNNY
uncle jesse @ May 28th 2009 1:51PM
I'm a Dead Space fan and this has my attention, but I won't get too excited just yet until I hear/see more about this one.
WREturns @ May 28th 2009 1:53PM
Me, too, but I hate on-rails games that aren't called Star Fox. If you want to see more, check this out.

uncle jesse @ May 28th 2009 1:58PM
Yeah, I've already checked that out. Thanks though. But I need MOAR still!
I will agree, but the main reason I'm interested is that this seems like they are going for more. Trying to get more immersive and lose the feeling like you can't control any of the action. Hope they pull it off.
I wasn't a big fan of Umbrella Chronicles, so we'll see.
Also, Star Fox should never be called on-rails. I prefer to call the genre that Star Fox is in as "awesomeness"
Vegnagun bwf @ May 28th 2009 2:07PM
Waiting for some reviews on this one, too.
Mr Khan @ May 28th 2009 1:52PM
have to wait (just another week), and see what the rest of that period looks like, but depending on the schedule, this'll make my buy list. I'm generally turned off by sci-fi horror games (prefer supernatural horror, not viral/zombie horror), but what i saw of Dead Space was actually quite good, reminiscent of the more atmospheric parts of Metroid Prime.
Storm Eagle @ May 28th 2009 1:54PM
You have to play the one for PS3/360. I'd venture as far as to say it's the best survival horror game since Resident Evil 4 (Haven't played 5.)
coffins outside the door @ May 28th 2009 1:55PM
periods never look good.
ArchiGamer @ May 28th 2009 1:53PM
I'll admit, not having played the original, this game has still managed to intrigue me. Hope it goes well!
Jason Statham (Aka Vegeta) @ May 28th 2009 2:06PM
You really should play the original. It's my personal "Best game of 2008"
I even made a trophy for it. It looks so pretty.
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 28th 2009 2:16PM
Well it proves horror games can be done without limiting the movement(Did you heard that Capcom?!).
Personally I think is a fantastic action game with a nice horror touch but I can help to think the story was inspired by the cult of Scientology and Silent Hill.
solidsmooky @ May 28th 2009 1:54PM
i guess wii fans are used to low res and super pixelated graphics from the doom 64 era
ArchiGamer @ May 28th 2009 1:57PM
Doomed 64 Era? What?
uncle jesse @ May 28th 2009 1:59PM
You said they looked like Super NES graphic earlier. Now they are N64-like?
If you are gonna flame, at least be consistent.
WREturns @ May 28th 2009 2:04PM
How did I miss a whole era of gaming?
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 28th 2009 2:24PM
Your comment needs moar downvote.
*facepalm.
Cody @ May 28th 2009 2:33PM
Doom64. Now THAT was a classic.
megapenguinx @ May 28th 2009 3:41PM
you just like all the replies because getting emails makes you feel loved.
p07h3ad @ May 28th 2009 1:58PM
I saw the co-op video IGN put up, wow it looked pretty darn good, I'm wondering which would have the better graphics The Conduit or Extraction?
Jason Statham (Aka Vegeta) @ May 28th 2009 2:03PM
From what I've seen of both games, I'd say extraction looks better.
sam @ May 28th 2009 6:43PM
Extraction should, at least theoretically, look better. It's easier to do good graphics for a rail shooter because it's entirely predictable what the game needs to show at any point.
solidsmooky @ May 28th 2009 2:06PM
okay wii babby fanboys, vote me down but you know it in your heart that this is true and it will be a 3 hour game with no replayability and looks like a turd that is waiting to be burgled.
WREturns @ May 28th 2009 2:13PM
How do you know so much about turd burglary, punkin?
ArchiGamer @ May 28th 2009 2:15PM
3 hours? When has a game been only 3 hours. Got damn it, if you're going to troll, at least try.
And learn to reply!
Jason Statham (Aka Vegeta) @ May 28th 2009 2:18PM
You know if you are going to ramble on like that, could you at least reply to your own comments. That way, all your bullshit can be contained on one section of the page.
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ May 28th 2009 2:27PM
Bitches don't know about the reply button.
guttertalk @ May 28th 2009 2:30PM
@smooky:
If you used your head instead of your heart, you'd know that Visceral Entertainment said Extraction would be as long as the original, which would be 10 hours. I've read a couple of recent previews that indicated it might be 12 hours.
Moptimus Slime (PhilosoRaptor is the new Keyboard Cat) @ May 28th 2009 4:41PM
How is babby formed? How girl get pregnant?
megapenguinx @ May 28th 2009 8:38PM
Then I ask a question
Evil Bastard @ May 28th 2009 2:10PM
There is nothing wrong with On-Rails games if done right. Just look at Killer 7.
Blackmagic1o0 @ May 28th 2009 2:28PM
***WARNING*** INCOMING FLOP!!!!
WREturns @ May 28th 2009 2:30PM
If you're talking about your mom flopping on my bed, you're right!

was looking forward to rhythmically tapping off alien kneecaps
Ceora @ May 28th 2009 4:39PM
Oh look another "survival horror" rail shooter.
*yawns*
Moptimus Slime (PhilosoRaptor is the new Keyboard Cat) @ May 28th 2009 4:43PM
yeah, those games are totally flooding the market right now.
Wait, what?
Ceora @ May 28th 2009 4:47PM
They don't have to. Other platforms have a decent enough programming architecture that they can make free environments and not be hampered by every single flaw that keeps the Wii from offering those same titles. Therefore you end up with a rail shooter that its going to flop.
Moptimus Slime (PhilosoRaptor is the new Keyboard Cat) @ May 28th 2009 4:50PM
yeah, those open world segments where my favorite part of Dead Space. They were a nice break from the cramped corridors that funneled you from point A to point B throughout the entire game.
