Those are way too lame and mainstream for real fans of the genre. They need to be featuring in DJs like Deadmau5 or Adam K & Soha if they want any credibility.

Am I the only one that thinks Activision might be doing the better job on this end?

It might be a stretch, but thinking of Activision doing a BETTER music game than someone else makes my stomach tingle.

You're dreaming because that has never happened.

Either way, this is all one big rip off of Beatmania anyway so whatever.

Beck is the only good artist on there. Unless I can make my own mixes then it could be awesome.

Im confused. 100 songs turned into 80 mixes? So some mixes are more than 1 song then?

In the interview with DJ Shadow last week, he said that he had done several mixes with pairs of songs, so as a player you pick two songs and mix them together, scratching them and matching the beats. He talked about doing a straight-forward stripped-down mix, and one with crazy scratches multitracked so it could be overlayed at points where you scratch in the game.

Then it got a little vague as to what you could do, but it almost sounded like he was saying as you progress through the game, you get more song choices you could pick from your 'crates' to mix together, like you could mix Song A with Song B, then next time mix song A with song F, or something. That would be cool. But that sounds like a pretty complex undertaking for the software with a huge amount of groundwork for the dev, and difficult to determine what you'd actually accumulate a score for.

Basically, I need to see some gameplay videos.

Come on, man, THIS is the definitive version of "Fire & Rain" by James Taylor (and should be mixed with The Superbowl Shuffle). - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VtFUG0irTQ
